Bottle at the RBSG09 grand tasting thanks to Papsoe. Black with a tan head. Chocolate and super roasty, ashy malt nose. Chocolate and burnt malt flavor with a dry finish. Thin in the mouth. Not one of the better stouts of the night, but still ok. saxo (18960) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 13, 2009
Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are coffee, chocolate, roast malt and hops. illidurit (2347) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 13, 2009
RBSG09 bottle at the grand tasting. Pours almost black with a creamy tan head. Aromas of dark breads and dark chocolate, with a metallic note. Flavor is mainly dark chocolate and cocoa powder, with a light roasted coffee character and toffee. Some mild hop flavors come through with pine, grapefruit, and resin. There’s a hint of acidity too. Nice complex beer. fiulijn (20993) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 12, 2009
Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2009Svesse (8683) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUL 12, 2009
Black color; big creamy head. Very nice roasted malt aroma, creamy, as well as the flavor, and both aroma and flavor have a good hopping.
(Bottle) Pitch black colour with creamy brown head. Roasted, malty nose with lots of creamy chocolate, a touch of strong black coffe and citrussy hops. Roasted, malty taste with dark chocolate, cocoa, strong black coffee, liquorice and a generous dose of citrussy, coffeeish bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, some sweetness. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Excellent stout (as expected from Amager).

Bottle.Batch 114. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a large frothy tan head.Aroma of distinct roastness, chocolate and hop. Flavour is bitter dark chocolate, coffee, toffee and toast. Lingering aftetaste, dark and bitter. Yummi! Marsiblursi (3076) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 24, 2009
(Bottle) Pours dark brown, super black in the glass with a large fluffy brown head. The aroma heavily roasted and medium burned with hoppy tones of resin, grapefruit, pine and earth. Malt brings notes of new asphalt, burned wood, coal, ash, tobacco, hard roasted espresso, 99% dark chocolate, cocoa powder and brown sugar/dark caramel. Nice dry-ish nose. As the beer gets warmer, you can detect some alcohol. The flavour is light sweet and medium to heavily bitter. Some acidic notes from the roasted malt blend well with the bitter hops. Tones of asphalt, coal, burned coffee beans, dark chocolate, resin, grapefruit, earth, light pine and the slightest touch of dark berries. The mouthfeel is, besides the acidic notes from the malt, surprisingly creamy, oily and smooth with a light to medium carbonation. The finish is salty, light black berry/blueberry fruity and resiny bitter. Nothing fancy about this beer, just vulgar in a good way - like a harmless bodybuilder. Thanks to MaxxDaddy for sharing. Wow- this was pretty damn good and actually is very similar to the Hr Frederiksen, just a bit weaker. Pours a similar very deep oily pitch black with a nice shiny tan head- good lace. Aroma is typical frederiksen sharp roastiness, wiht good earthy and slight citrus hop notes, big chocolate and a very unique earthy yeastiness with some dark dried fruits. Flavor is toffee, moderate careml sweetness, lots of coffee and orast barley earth, leather, tar, and tobacco leaf with a big nutty and fruity finish. Awesome 7% stout! Bottle received via trade with Sahlholdt. Pours opaque with an average, fizzy, dark brown head, lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, coffee, molasses), light hop (herbs), average yeast (leather) with notes of charcoal, prune, and oak. Full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness. Ober (2814) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - JUN 4, 2009
An opaque, almost black colored beer, with a big foamy almost brown colored head. The aroma of chocolate with vanilla, coffee and roasted malts. Some fruits. The taste is roasted with sweet chocolate. There are fruits like citrus with raisins and some prunes. Nice bitterness. The aftertaste is dry bitter and it stays for a while.
