A powerful new world stout of the highest order. Pours with an amazingly fluffy ice cream sunday head. Really pretty. Deeply flavoured nose with sweet roast and clear cut dark chocolate. Good penetration here. Roast and chocolate takes a back seat in the palate as the hops come through. Not at all over powering but it does straighten / tighten the flavours. Soft, elegant finish. Black colour with a creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malts and and coffee. Flavor is also roasted malts and licorice and some chocolate. Long lasting bitter finish. Good stuff from amager indeed. ken1 (1986) - DENMARK - FEB 3, 2012
A vers good with roasted and oaklike flavors. Nice rotundes with Nice bitterness. Vers Dark ón ColorSync with a lasting White head. Jesterdeal (1985) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - JAN 16, 2012
Aroma of black coffee, dark soy beans, and roasted barley. Pours black with some decent white lacing. Tastes very bitter with roast barley coming through and a hint of anis. Very dark and a little harsh but definitely a strong stout. I just wasn’t feeling this one. zgaier (1951) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - JUL 31, 2014
Bottle. Pours black with a brown head and aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is of dark malt, chocolate, smoke, and bittering coffee and hop notes while sweet with a burnt, roasty finish. Delicious stout

500mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Pours black in the glass with some reddish hints showing through the edges. The head is small and beige, receding to a small cap with some delicate lacing.
The aroma is dominated by roasted black malts, almost burnt notes, cocoa and a surprisingly noticeable hop presence. There is a bit more sweetness than the Hr Frederiksen.
The taste is more of the same with some sweet chocolate malts and toasted, smoky black malts combining to form the backbone of the taste with the citrus from the hops layered on top with some dark fruit sweetness as well.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied for the style, though it’s certainly on the lighter side if you’re expecting an impy stout.
This is almost a semi-imperial stout as it’s got much of the complexity and flavor of an impy stout but with a lighter body. It makes it seriously drinkable. SuperDave (1932) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAY 1, 2011
Bottle shared by little Nicky. Black pour with a creamy head. Roasty aroma with a bit of fruit, chocolate and funk. Similar flavor. Pretty good stuff! Gorm (1899) - Sandnes, NORWAY - MAR 3, 2014
Svært farve med lys beige skum. Lukt av malt, sjokolade og kaffe. Smak av malt, sjokolade lakris og kaffe. Fruktig. Melkebaren. Abio (1869) - BERMUDA - JUN 23, 2010
Bottle at home, shared with Erwin. Pours out very dark brown, looks like pitch black at the glass. Very little, to little, head, that won’t hold neither it seems. A bit sad. Very good aroma of coffe, lightly chococlate and red fruits inside. Like this one for sure allready. Roasted, very good nespresso- chocolate taste, pretty well balanced biterness and roastiness. Don’t ask me why, but I likt this one more then the HR. Frederiksen, wich is pretty good also. But I think this one, for me, seems more balanced at tastes, only a bit sad the head costs some points. Gonna buy more if I can. Linnet (1813) - Karlstad, SWEDEN - NOV 26, 2009
Black colour, tan head some lacing. Aroma is extremely roasted and full of chocolate and coffee. Flavour is the same with a nice bitterness to it. Unfortunately the body is a bit thin and it is very flat as well. This is so much the case that it influences the whole experience of the beer. With a better mouthfeel I would have loved it, now I don’t.
