COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Solid beer. Luckily finishing my 2018 New Year's day with this one after a good meal with family. Starting the year on the right foot. Got this one from the LCBO 2017 Fall Beer Program.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 Roasty aroma with dark chocolate notes, alongside a pleasant smokey feel. There's also rye toast and ash. Taste is like bacon chocolate, ash, 90% cocoa, burnt brown sugar. Full body, roasty bitter finish. Excelent beer!

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 Bouteille. Noire, mousse brune. Excellente.

[Bottle (500ml)] Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with an average size diminishing frothy brown head. Minimal lacing. Aroma of toasted malt, chocolate, nuts, light hops, smoke and rye. Flavour is malty and smokey first followed by hops, rye, some coffee and a big bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied. Great stuff!
