3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Medium, dense, foxy tan-to-brown head over black, viscous beer. Rich black chocolate & mocha nose. Cigarette smoke, smoked mackerel. Sweet, toffeeish main flavour going over in a more bitter-dry ashy finish. Chocolate very much in view again. Quite viscous and well-bodied, if not really chewy as some. Bit oily, but dry. All in all, not really that impressive. Bit... bland? For a Danish-USA collaboration, talk about surprising.
(Bottle) Pitch black colour with frothy, beige head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, black rye bread, roasted nuts, prunes, blackberries, a touch of treacle and hints of smoke. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, black rye bread, liquorice, black coffee, prunes, treacle, tobacco and a balanced cacao bitterness in a roasty and slightly vinous finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Quite powerful and a bit one-dimensional, but really tasty. Very nice. Panzuriel (2238) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 2017
Appearance: Rich Inky Brown. Half a finger of mocha bubbles.
Nose: Deeply roasted malt, hints of cocoa. Definite hop presence. Touch of pine
Taste: Chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted malt, hints of pine.
Body: Fuller with satiny mouthfeel.
Parting thoughts: A very chocolate stout. The hops are definitely something that sets this apart. They blend well with the chocolate bitters.

A bit too much Amager, not enough Hoppin’ Frog. A mix between the hop and the malt makes me wonder if it’s a Black IPA, Stout or Imperial stout I’m drinking. Aroma is nice with lot of complexity but falls short on taste/finish. polo_marco (332) - milton, Vermont, USA - MAY 30, 2016
Smells of roasted malts with a slight winey boozy scent at the end. Super rich black color with no head. Really nice smooth roasted malts flavor with slight wine taste with wood like dry finish. Full body with exreamly light carbonation. Love the feel of the beer but not a fan of that winey taste not my thing. But still not a bad brew. Arve_Christian (5138) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 30, 2016
On bottle. Pitch black color, good brownish foam. HIgh aroma intensity; cocoa, hops, choclate, malt, dark toffee and some leather. Full body & complexity. Good bitterness and balance. Very enjoyable

Shared 16.9 oz. bottle. Pours brown-black with a dark tan head. Nose is roasted malt, chocolate, and licorice with coffee notes. Flavor is similar to the nose and quite rich. There is a good amount of hops bitterness, but it doesn’t clash with roasted/chocolate/coffee flavors and adds a nice extra dimension. Medium-bodied. Could probably be classified as a stout. Excellent. darbeer75 (901) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - MAR 8, 2016
Aroma: chocolatey and rich; Appearance: pitch black with tan head that dissipates quickly; Taste: also very rich and chocolatey with underlying bitterness and hops; extremely complex and delicious; Palate: heavy body with long, simultaneously sweet and bitter finish; Overall: possibly my favorite imperial stout yet, though perhaps just a teench too sweet; would definitely buy again. anstei (2246) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - JAN 30, 2016
Bottle at Erzbierschof Zurich. Probably the most chocolate-y impstout I ever had, from start to finish having this very dark bitter cocoa aroma. Some sweetness on the tongue, but not on the palate. Lingering lasting finish, but not a sweet one either. Wow. Theydon_Bois (19481) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 3, 2015
Bottle split at Amager Brewery mini tasting, RBESG ’15 day 3, thanks to Papsoe, 22/08/15.
Pitch black with a decent dirty tan covering that retains well.
Nose is rich roast, dark malts, spice, chocolate, hint of fruit.
Taste comprises chocolate, malt, toffee fudge, roast malt.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, dry roasty tones in the close.
Decent enough impy. TEJA (3056) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 30, 2015
Bottle from systembolaget sweden. Big and lasting brown head. Big chocolate aroma and taste. Big bitterness and a litle bit hard. Not as good as the original Frog but still very good.
