English: This is the true story of how ”Hr. Papsø on Acid” was born:
One day at Amager Bryghus (Amager Brewery) one brewer said to the other:
”Damm, I hate how this Papsø dude is always so cool and controlled. Shouldn’t we do something about it?”. The other brewer answered: “Hell yeah, you’re right. Way too cool for my liking – and so tense. Listen, my mum just returned from her yearly pilgrimage to Haight-Ashbury. She brought back this small bag of local herbs, will that be any good to loosen him up a bit?”. The first brewer sniffed to the small herbal bag and said: “They sure smell funny, let’s spike up Hr. Papsø!”
What happened next, nobody knows – yet…
This beer was made in honor of our dear friend, Mr. Henrik Papsø, who reached 20,000 ratings in 2011 at – we thank him for his support of Amager Bryghus!
A Quad aged on a port barrel. Brewed with malt, hops, candy syrup, yeast, local Haight-Ashbury herbs and...Brett.

375 ml corked & caged green bottle, batch #247, from the brewery. BB date Dec. 2020. ABV is 13.2%. Cloudy dark brown colour, low beige head dies out instantly. Strong sweetish aroma of oak, malts, molasses and fusel alcohols, also notes of raisins and other dark dried fruits. Very moderate carbonation in the mouth, warming mouthfeel. The fairly sweet flavour has notes of oak, malts, fortified wine and dark dried fruits, also herbs and spices. No acidity, not much sign of brett here.

Murky brown color with no head. The cork didn’t even pop when I took it off. Huge rich malty nose. This is a sweet beer with brown sugar, molasses, wood, port, buttered toast, and candi sugar. I don’t get any Brett in here. Boozy finish.

Bottle cheers to Papso himself. Pours dirty brown with pretty much no head. Nose shows some very heavy christmas cake fruits - heavy plum and prunes, sticky date, heavy caramel, toffee biscuit, light herbal/grassy notes. Taste shows heavy caramel - I’m talking thick, gluggy, gooey caramel. WOrks well with some heavy fruits - focusing on dates. Sticky sweet. Resinous. Cool stuff. Drinks very well for 13%. Enjoyable

Bottle 37.5cl, from Henrik many thanks. A dark amber beer without head. Nose is intense on sweet caramel, prune and wood notes. Aroma is on sweet caramel, toffee, wood, vanilla, prunes and red fruits, good complexity, oily texture. Finish is very vinous, quite strong beer anyway complex and tasty.

Bottle at the DISOB tasting, Den Haag. Poured a murky brown with no life at all. The aroma is rich and alcoholic, leading to a rich bitter thick alcoholic fruity flavour. The warm bitter alcoholic palate is more welcome than a St Bernard after being caught in an avalanche. Not what I expected but a truly amazing beer.

Bottle shared at the "Dean’s scared of beer tasting". Pours murky brown with no head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, sweet fruit, candy. Flavor is heavy sweet. Thick syrupy mouthfeel with an alcohol burn in the finish. Full bodied with flat carbonation. Nice, but a real sugar bomb!

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Medium amber color with a white head. Aroma is full of toffee with some dark fruit and tobacco. The flavor is a mix of dark fruit, toffee and brown sugar, with a healthy alcohol burn. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation. Glad I got to try this one.
