COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Throw off the darkness, make merry and bid the light welcome! That is the simple message in our Spring IPA "Kåååd" (Frisky). Not many people know this, but there is a whole herd of beef cattle being raised in a secret Amager location on the spent grain from our beer production. This cattle herd, surely the happiest in the world, had barely tasted the grain from this very beer, before they let out a celebratory MUUH so loud that it could be heard all the way to downtown Copenhagen. The ensuing merriment in the herd caused a Stampede greater than any seen in Calgary in July. But one thing is for sure: If you, dear hophead, partake of this brew, you will become as frisky as our happy heifers as soon as you catch a whiff of the aromatic hops that we have jam-packed into "Kåååd". Have a merry old spring - and don’t do anything we, or the happy cattle, wouldn’t do...

Ingredienser: Vand, Malte: Pilsner-, Münchener-, Cara Pils og Melanoidin malt. Humler: Herkules, Tomahawk, Summit, Chinook, Simcoe, Centennial, Amarillo og Cascade. Gær: en amerikansk overgær.

Copenhagen 21/9 2017. 50 cl bottle from Meny. Some kind of red Bunny Girl on the label. I suspect she's some kind of variation of the Easter Bunny (the Eggs that surround her is a give away). Pours hazy orange with quite substantial white head. Moderate lacing. Aroma is rich and intensely hoppy. Sweet base from the malts, exotic fruit intermingling with citrus and grape fruit. Pretty fresh with a citric twist. Soft carbonation and medium thick palate. Flavor is medium sweet followed by strong dry bitterness. Aftertaste is sour grape fruit and finish is dry. Refreshing and easy to drink if you like your beer bitter and slightly dry.

Very murky brass colour with a rosy tinge. Very thin head. Aroma is hay and a bit of pastry. Taste is sweet tropical fruit and malt. Boozy character even though it isn’t that strong.

An orange beer, a head is medium and blond. ARoma has tropical notes, mangos and citrus, caramel, pine and some wood. Taste has wood and pine, only some citrus, medium bitterness, balanced sweetness. Long and wooden end. Medium bodied, low carbonation. More fruitness would be better, but balanced.

Aromat: niezbyt mocny, żywiczny, sporo cytrusów, białe owoce, świeży i lekki. Wygląd: bursztynowe i złote, czyste, przejrzyste, bardzo ładna średniowysoka warstwa drobnopęcherzykowej białej piany, dosyć szybko zanikającej. Smak: wytrawne, bardzo rześkie, pijalne i sesyjne. Przede wszystkim sosnowa żywica na pierwszym planie, dalej bardzo lekka i subtelna słodycz owoców tropikalnych, mango, papaja, marakuja, ananas. Cytrusy głównie biały i czerwony grejpfrut, pomarańcza.

Bitterheid is perfect in balans.

Seca. Perfectamente fresca, no me llama la atención.

Something to look forward to each Spring. Maybe Amager’s best IPA (at least when had super fresh). Just such a nice balance of fruit, resin, caramel malt and grain. Hoppy as hell, yeah, but just so tasty without being one-dimensional. A favorite.
