Bottle 375ml.
Clear dark red brown color with a average to large, creamy, excellent lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, burnt, caramel, coffee, fresh wood - oak, vanilla, licorice - smokey, cigar tobacco. Flavor is heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and heavy bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to creamy, carbonation is soft. [20100219]

37.5 cL bottle. Pours pitch black and with a slowly diminishing tan and creamy head. Yeast at the bottom! Aroma is alcohol, chemical and dark roasted malt with a light coffee note. Flavour starts quite hot alcoholic and dark roasted malty. Strange chemical and phenolic notes mixing with the coffee, dark roasted malt and a distinct alcohol presence. Burning finish - difficult to finish a full bottle. Too alcoholic and with too many weird flavours for my liking.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma is extremely powerful and has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, coffee, and vanilla. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, vanilla alcohol, coffee, and soy sauce, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottled (Tusen tack Papsoe!). Quite much black colour, small brown head. Aroma is burnt rubber, some roasted malts, alcohol, liquorice and some wood. Flavour is wood, sugary and roasted malts. This followed by toffee and vanilla. Feels a bit too young and unbalanced.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 19, 2010
Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours an opaque - almost murky - black with a dense and creamy light brown head with excellent retention. Aroma is very oaky but somewhat skewed and odd. Solid body, hard roasted malts and dried fruit. Strangely salty with a tang of glue and an underlying tartness. Some malt bitterness. Quite odd. 190210

Very dark brown beer, tiny tan head. Dry palate, airy. Tangy sourish wood. Sweet emulsion paint. A little coca cola and lactose sweetness. Finishes semi dry and airy. Unusual. Nice.
