COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: Hailing out of Little Village, Chicago, and with a strict Irish background, the MacDunnes had been patriots since the day the first family member set her foot on American soil. Male MacDunnes had been volunteering for every war they possibly could. So, the day that young Garret turned 18 it was both expected and with a natural pride that he enlisted to fight for his country in the Vietnam war as part of the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines. As a private he was hailed through some of the fiercest battles of the war: Khe Sanh, Hamburger Hill, the Tet Offensive you name it – Garret was there. Wounded several times but strictly alive unlike many of his fighting compadres. Actually, he’d lost so many that his battalion was nicknamed “The Walking Dead” due to their extreme casualty rate. When Garret returned to Chicago after three years in hell, he was utterly disillusioned and soon became a very outspoken voice against the war. He was a prominent member of the anti-war movement, and taking up music he was famous for his long concerts for peace played on a mobile organ with a distinct Ray Manzarek inspiration. Part of his fame could clearly be attributed to the strange fact that he would always perform without pants, due to a severe skin rash he brought home from the war. This collaboration beer made with one of Chicago’s finest craft breweries is named in honor of this true American patriot and peace activist.

bottle. kid you not, bought from beergium in belgium (and i live less then 10 kilometers from amager brewery). hazy yellow, smooth white head.somewhat faint aroma, but what is there, is quite potent exotic fruity with pineapple and something herbal citrussy like lemongrass. Quite nice aroma. flavor is quite mild, with a complex hoppy blanket of flavors on top of some flowery sweet malts. Quite quenching session ipa, a little on the sweet side, but it works very well. I'm going to enjoy the rest of this bottle, whose travel itinary has been fairly pointless.

Bottle shared by Erwin, thanks. Mosaic-hopped session IPA made at Amager in collaboration with Pipeworks - and as usual with Amager, with a long and trailing backstory on the label which I will not bother to read. Thick and frothy, cobweb-lacing, egg-white head over a misty 'lemon yellow' beer with greenish tinge. Aroma of lime zest, stale lemon juice, starfruit, gooseberry juice, white bread, withering spring onions, unripe banana. Clean fruitiness in the onset, lime juice aspects mingled with raw pineapple and starfruit notes, low in sweetness but sweetened by a doughy, lightly bready maltiness, fizzy carbonation. Bit cereally towards the end but adorned with very aromatic, tropical, zesty hoppiness, old grapefruit juice and lemon rind, refreshing and elegant but only mildly bittering. Could have been more bitter for me, but other than that a delicate and fragrant little beer that serves its purpose well.

Kita (2247) - Koper, SLOVENIA - OCT 21, 2017
Bottle, 0.50l. Cloudy pale golden color with large soapy white head, excellent lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma of passion fruit, peach, papaya and biscuit malt. Taste starts light sweet citrussy and grainy, following is grassy and earthy, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is bitter. Light to medium body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Easy going reconciliation brew...

It pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow colored body with a frothy lasting white head. Aroma is immediately very citrusy and tropical. Pineapple, mango, orange. Mosaic at 60% strength. The taste is light, fruity, citrusy with a decent kick of bitterness in the aftertaste. It’s not a clinical bitterness, but a fruity hoppy balanced sensation. Session IPA for sure. This drinks really easy. Smooth, light mouthfeel, soft to medium carbonation, light to medium body.
