Bottle sample at RBWG. Pours a cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, cocoa, sweet notes, light herbal character, slightly tart, mild spice with a hint of vanilla. Interesting combination of nose and flavor, but something didn’t completely click for me. chinchill (5161) - South Carolina, USA - FEB 13, 2014
Dark reddish-brown; a bit murky.
Moderately strong aroma flowed but a very very strong flavor.
Dark fruits, coffee, cherries, dark chocolate. Really high complexity.
Near chewy body.
Hmmm, description sounds good but I found this to be too extreme. jtclockwork (16855) - , New Jersey, USA - FEB 12, 2014

Bottle at RBWG Asheville Grand Tasting. Pours deep brown with a frothy beige head. Odd nose, some rubber, burnt cocoa, char. Light to medium sweet flavor with dominant barrel character, inky twang, bitter cocoa. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with whiskey, wet wood, dark bread, mild earthy bitterness. So so. olsvammel (7256) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JAN 26, 2014
Bottle from Systembolaget that has been in my cellar for a couple of years. Fruity smell and also a bit sour. Taste of coffee, chocolate and fruits, also a bit wineous. Strong flavour. Feels aged and the edges are rounded off. banii (240) - Sola, NORWAY - JAN 14, 2014
Black with some redish highlights. No carbonation. Taste is salty sweet with notes of chocolate, liquorice, wet oak, port and redwine. Heavy but tasty. thomat (3985) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 24, 2013

UPDATED: AUG 29, 2013 9/VIII/13 -37.5cl bottle @ De Hopduvel - BB: 2025- batch 245 (2013-704) Thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!
Little cloudy deep brown beer, some beige to brown bubbles, but not really a head. Aroma: some bubble gum (fruity) on pouring, then sugary, caramel, alcohol, dried fruits, candied orange peel, dark chocolate. MF: soft to no carbon, medium to full body, slick texture. Taste: very sourish start, bit unpleasant, vinous, sour red wine, tannins, coffee, stale bread, banana peel, a bit salty even. Aftertaste: overripe banana’s, mocha, dark caramel, some overripe fruits, bit sugary, salty touch, dry coffee ending. Pretty weird, and I guess I don’t like the red wine / port character too much.
