English: Amager Rye Porter is the result of fruitful cooperation between the best of Danish and American brewing cultures. It’s base is made of hard roasted malts and 16% rye. It adds a fantastic sweetness, and a titillating spicy edge, which, combined with a subtle and balanced acidity, is reminiscent of rye bread. This is not a beer for the weak, we’re pleased with the outcome and hope you will be too

TAR (2765) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - JAN 16, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2013 Blackened chestnut. Creamy but dying off-tan head. Intriguing nose of carob, ink-soaked blueberries, shoe polish, hazelnut, smoky roast, vanilla. Distant peppery hoppiness. Strong presence of alcohol. Soft, minuscule carbonation. Opens with a gritty roast punch and an immediately ensuing tar-covered espresso bean cushion laced with silky, ink-soaked dark fruits. Massive amounts of tacky, tongue-caressing residuals, yet never cloying due to the ripe estery opulence and relentless roast. Toasted pumpernickel bread snugly nestles into the palate and lends ample crispness to allay the sugary onslaught. Expressively earthy and peppery hop bitterness supplies the body with additional layers of spicy spruce resin. Wealth of smoky roast dries it out as oily java and meaty molasses deepen the endless malt decadence. Bouncy vanilla-bean vibrancy adds lift to the center, keeping the colossal sugar content in check. Slippery rye fruitiness and a wheatlike twang also join in to help bring balance as they align with the dark, plush fruity esters akin to pen ink, blueberry and blackcurrants. Silky, edgeless malt finish, and sublimely plush as well, with rich, velvety truffles, fudge, and liquefied toffee lingering. This is a very unique and singular porter seemingly designed with the wine lover in mind as it’s quite the explosion of fruit. A fun one!

Too sweet for a porter in my opinion. Dark malts and alcohol. Nice bitterness.

PapaVillum (950) - Valby, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2017
Lettere utydelig/anonym aroma i indledningen. Spitzenklasse! 25 cl på fad, 8.5 % ABV, nydt på Kompasset på Østerbro. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2014 bottle i think. Pours black with a thin, beige head. Aroma has notes of caramel, dark chocolate, nut shells, dark fruits, and roasty malts. Taste is noticeably bitter with dark chocolate, dark fruits, a touch of smoke, sweet caramel, dates, and a drawn out, dark candy sugary ending. Medium-full body with a low-medium carbonation. A bit syrupy in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall a nice beer to sip on.

Bottle. Black with a medium tan head that has good retention and ample sticky lacing. The aroma is big and bold, I can smell it clearly from several feet away. In the aroma I get sweet dark fruits and chocolate liqueur. The taste is not quite as big as the nose, i get cocoa, coffee, plums, hay, and pepper. The palate is full and velvety smooth. The finish is long and dry. Overall: Very nice.

Big light brown colored head with a dense brown body. Aromas of hops, mild dark chocolate, and lightly roasted malt. Nothing too special, just solid. Full, thick and lightly slick feel. Hints of tar in the finish. Very solid porter. 12/10
