COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: På det seneste har vi eksperimenteret en del med dobbeltmæskning – altså, at lave en øl på øl. The Days Of Barley And Roses er netop sådan en dobbeltmæsket øl.

Kleurplaatje (211) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 6, 2016
Pours medium dark with very little head. Heavy malty aroma. Some caramel, bit of a vinous tone, ripe fruits... Some alcohol as well. Interesting. Tastewise very much in line with a ruby port. Seems the Niepoort touch is clearly visible. Smoothly sweet with notes of raisins, figs, brown sugar, dark chocolate and peppery caramel. Woody finish, has that perfect port-ish balance of sweetiness with a moderately dry touch. Typical sticky texture, full bodied and with a moderate carbonation. Pretty well balanced. Sipper for sure, but quite a lovely one. Could have been more thicker though.

50 cl bottle poured in to a Snifter. Batch #571, BBE 03/2019. Hazy, amber colour with a thin, off-white head, that fades to a thin ring around the edges of the glass. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, dark overripe fruits, port barrel, red grapes, faint liquorice and citrus fruits. Taste is sweet. Full body with an oily texture and a soft to flat carbonation. Finishes lasting sweet with oak and port notes. Excellent Barley Wine. You got to love the port barrel notes in this one.

Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. Pours clear amber-gold with a foamy, white head. The nose holds dry wood, light cedar, beachwood. Medium sweet flavour with lots of dried fruits, pale wood, sugar, straw, apricot. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with more woody dryness, leathery berries. Tasty and nicely balanced.

An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, and caramel sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, caramel sauce, and citrusy, leading to dry alcoholic finish.

500ml bottle. Somewhat dirty hazy redish-brown with small beige film. Aroma is port, wood, sweet syrup, chocolate, coffee, some charred notes and hints of red fruits. Taste is port, red fruits, dried fruits eg. raisins, slight wood acidity, some chocolate, a hint of roasted coffee and syrupy sweetness. The mouthfeel is rather smooth but with clearly niticeable alcohol, the carbonation is low and the aftertaste is lasting.
