English: Cain is said to have murdered his brother out of envy. At Amager Bryghus we believe that murder is taking things a bit far. However, we admit to being envious because we weren’t the first brewer to come up with the beer style we admire the most: a crisp and hopped up West Coast IPA. We won’t kill anybody because we didn’t come up with the idea first, instead we present to you “Envy” - our take on this style. Humble – yet envious.
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from: Pilsener and Munich malts. Hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe and Centennial and fermented with an American ale yeast.

Ottima birra, una spremuta di luppolo. Profumo intenso e grande persistenza. Una grande IPA danese da far crepare d'invidia a tanti produttori italiani

500 ml bottle. Slightly unclear pale golden body with a white head. Nice hoppy aroma with citric fruit and dominating grapefruit, some pale malt in the background. Favor is as expected mostly hoppy, the pale malt stays in the background and everything is basically about the hops, but it’s a good hop flavor here. Mainly grapefruit, some peaches, some pine and some orange zest and hint of lemon. The bitterness is good and it stays all the way through the pretty long lasting aftertaste. Medium body. A nice IPA, even if I normally prefer some more malt body to my IPA.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with medium white head. Aroma is grepefruity, citrusy, piney and resiny, slightly dank and dry. Taste follows the aroma, tropical fruits, sweet citrus fruits, pine and yeast, with a very marked bitter aftertaste.

Bamsen78 (5707) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAR 20, 2016
Bottle. Pours clear amber with stable creamy off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit and citrus, with hoppy and malty notes. Intense, bitter, hoppy flavour with crisp, citric notes and round, sweetish touches of fruit (orange peel?) and malt and some estery hints. Lingering, bitter, hoppy aftertaste with citric notes and estery hints. Medium to high carbonation. Well-balanced and decent.

DocLock (11256) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 16, 2016
Bottle from State Line. Pours hazy dark straw with frothy white head. Nose was hops, pine nuts, yeast, apricot, white pepper. Tastes complex, with notes of piney hops, mild yeast, apricot, peach, white pepper, and a complex finish. Solid.

drjoeng (1484) - SINGAPORE - FEB 1, 2016
6.5%ABV.  IPA. Poured out of the bottle a light Amber.  10ºSRM. Nose is floral brightness to it like freesias or magnolias.   The citrus character is bright and sweet and all about a beautiful ripe tangerine on the tree. Mouthfeel is soapy.   Palate has nice toasted malt, wheat toast, Wonder bread, caramel, burnt sugar, hard candy sweetness,  Hops are vegetal, pine, resin, sap and an almost rubber band like bitterness.  Finish is long and hyssop bitter. Goes on Favorites List!

ALIBALI (2950) - Kiel, GERMANY - FEB 1, 2016
Da muss kein Neid aufkommen. Rundum gelungen.
