COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Bottle from State Line. Pours hazy dark straw toward copper with very lacy, off-white head. Nose is resiny hops caramel malt, grapefruit tangerine. Tastes rich, somewhat cloying and with late head, and with resiny hops, grapefruit, tangerine, and pineapple flavors.

Kauge (1931) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 13, 2016
Bottle from Uba ja Humal. BB 04/2017. Was too beat to analyse it properly, so here’s an overall impression. It is pretty much what I expect from a proper DIPA, although the ABV is too much really, too much, and it’s 50 cl! Looks nice, although the head drops too fast, leaving almost no lace. The aroma and flavour is dominated by crisp, almost unripe grapefruits and some fuller stone fruits in the background. Lovely stuff. I must have drooled like Homer Simpson when having it. Totally forgot the writing part.

peponi (1842) - Hannover, GERMANY - FEB 12, 2016
Aroma: strawberries, sweet notes. Appearance: slightly hazy golden color and thin white head. Taste: high bitterness (astringent, long and rough), caramel, cellar, dry. Palate: full body and medium carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: One-dimensional and too rough beer.

Ottima!

@ La Tape. Coppery color with a white head, good retention, nice lacework. Aroma with notes of orange, tangerine and tropical fruits, some herbal hints as well. Flavor has a decent bitterness, very fruity, resin hops are highly present with some caramelish hints. Flavor is fruity with long duration. Creamy and smooth on palate.

golden orange beer with white head. Aroma: Citrus, pineapple, resin, pine. Strong and nice. Taste: med sweet, high, sharp but short bitter. Flavours again: citrus, pineapple, resin. Palate: medium body, light carbonation, alcohol is warming up and kinda increasing bitterness. Overall: Very tasty IIPA. Nice stuff. Even with this high and a little present alcohol on palate, it’s pretty drinkable.
