English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Just delicious one. Brilliant aroma of tropical fruit with citrus. Fills almost whole room. Such intensity I wish every IPA. Bitterness was countered perfectly creating a very balanced beer. Profile of tropical fruit mixed with resin. The whole creates a perfect combination.

Light opalescent, smooth off white head, excellent lacings. Aromas of butterscotch (diacetyl), light blossom, honey, fruit-potpouri, some lychee, orange, ripe peach. Finely carbonated, a bit slick, pronounced yet surprisingly slender body. Light butterscotch sweetness building up a solid fruity piney-lime hop bitterness with harmonic astringency. Lasting finish, hides its abv well. Feels a bit like eating through a hop farm.

Bottle. Great aroma: fruits, hops, porto and nectar. Taste: still very juicy and fruity, light sweetness, mango and grapefruit, pleasant hop bitterness.

This one is simply delicious. A lot of bitterness, woody aroma, citrus aroma countered with caramel sweetness. This is what I’m looking for in double IPA.

Great aroma from the very first sniff. Then it only gets better. Pours hazy yellow with white head. The alcohol is well hidden. Lots of tropical fruits in the aroma and taste. Very drinkable due to low carbonation and thin to medium body.

Bottle from State Line. Pours hazy dark straw toward copper with very lacy, off-white head. Nose is resiny hops caramel malt, grapefruit tangerine. Tastes rich, somewhat cloying and with late head, and with resiny hops, grapefruit, tangerine, and pineapple flavors.

Bottle from Uba ja Humal. BB 04/2017. Was too beat to analyse it properly, so here’s an overall impression. It is pretty much what I expect from a proper DIPA, although the ABV is too much really, too much, and it’s 50 cl! Looks nice, although the head drops too fast, leaving almost no lace. The aroma and flavour is dominated by crisp, almost unripe grapefruits and some fuller stone fruits in the background. Lovely stuff. I must have drooled like Homer Simpson when having it. Totally forgot the writing part.

Excelente cerveza, de mis favoritas de los pecados de Amager. Mejora en cada trago y no se hace larga a pesar de probarla en botella en su formato de medio litro.

peponi (1941) - Hannover, GERMANY - FEB 12, 2016
Aroma: strawberries, sweet notes. Appearance: slightly hazy golden color and thin white head. Taste: high bitterness (astringent, long and rough), caramel, cellar, dry. Palate: full body and medium carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: One-dimensional and too rough beer.
