COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

Marsellus Wallace: On the night of the fight you might feel a slight sting. That’s pride, fucking with you. FUCK PRIDE. Pride only hurts, it never helps. This was a tasty, rich impy, moderately sweet with a full body and roasty dryness. Bottle shared at game night.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, batch 1355, bb 06/2021
Black color, frothy brownish head. Aroma of roasted malts, footy, some cardboard, some glue. Smooth mouthfeel, good body strength, flavor of roasted malts, some salty liquorice, tar, quite rich, when you wait till it gets warmer.
Good, not the best imperial stout though.

Warka nr 855. Zapach mocno palony, ciemne słody z dominantą czekolady, ciemnego chleba, kawy i lukrecji. W smaku umiarkowanie palone z wyraźną goryczką i długim wytrawnym finiszem. W smaku ziarna kakao, czekolady i popiołu. Odrobina słodyczy. Ciało średnie, niskie wysycenie. Alkohol likierowy, przyjemny.

Medium brown, with a nice fudgey and super fruity nose. Burnt, has a touch of toastiness, has a bitter taste...burly but maybe not all that complex. But that’s a big brew.

If you drink too many of these, you will need to swallow your pride when you do the walk of shame. Strong, but the toasted malts hide the alcohol very well. There’s also a lot of sweetness, not quite caramel, but similar.

Bottled. Old note. The aroma has roast, chocolate, licorice. Black coloured beer with a medium sized, beige head. The taste is moderate bitter with some malty sweetness, chocolate, roast. More bitter towards the end. Nice.

Tap. Black with nice brown head. Aroma is dark malts, roasted and coffee. Taste is dark malts, bitter coffee, tar and some cocoa. For me its a bit to bitter mouthfeel, but its ok enough.

Kita (2120) - Koper, SLOVENIA - MAR 20, 2017
Bottle, 0.50l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Pours pitch black with thin creamy brown head and poor lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, licorice and herbs. Taste starts with medium sweet and rich roasted malt, follows by chocolate, licorice and wood, mouthfeel is peppery and warming, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. It’s a sin, if you don’t like Pride...
