English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

Tap. Black with nice brown head. Aroma is dark malts, roasted and coffee. Taste is dark malts, bitter coffee, tar and some cocoa. For me its a bit to bitter mouthfeel, but its ok enough.

Kita (2147) - Koper, SLOVENIA - MAR 20, 2017
Bottle, 0.50l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Pours pitch black with thin creamy brown head and poor lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, licorice and herbs. Taste starts with medium sweet and rich roasted malt, follows by chocolate, licorice and wood, mouthfeel is peppery and warming, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. It’s a sin, if you don’t like Pride...

500ml bottle pours a deep black colour with a finger of brown head that leaves very little lacing on the glass. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and roasted grains with some herbal notes and alcohol. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a roasted grain and coffee bitterness finishing with a pleasant warming from the alcohol. Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a pleasant brew that suits the style well. Recommended.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Online Store, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Saturday 14th January 2017 helping Loz cook Braised Scallops Pancetta and Peas whilst listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul show Pours pitch black with a cinder toffee coloured med’ head. A rather nice aroma, it is a bit tricky to eliminate the above which we’re cooking but I think that I can, I get a nice soft cooked sweet fruitiness, burnt demerara sugar, but with some hops lifting from the roastiness and green hoppy edge, though there is a little milky coffee. Really nice. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Marstonlad (885) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2017
Bottle from a beer shop in Tallinn. Pours murky dark brown with a non-existant head. The aroma in strong: it features roasty maltiness with especially licorice prominent as well as rye pudding. Taste is light sweet initially, later more or less roasty and in the finish quite bitter – a long and complex path in this taste. Licorice, rye pudding and espresso are the dominant flavours; also a wooden, peaty touch appears. The palate is full-bodied, fairly flat and smooth. Does not look attractive but taste is as brilliant as expected.

CaverP (32) - Holte, DENMARK - OCT 22, 2016
Meget smagfuld sort imp Stout, næsten for sort og kraftig i smagen. Ikke så meget øl smag, da det overdøves at mørk tjære smag.

Very solid Imperial Stout. Very fullbodied with sugary notes, but also a backburner of hoppyness. Low carbonation.
