English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So Pride simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. Were not proud to be sinners, but at least were open about it

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

(50 cl bottle from the brewery; Batch #511 BBD: october 2017) Pours pitch black with beautifully creamy, dark, toffee head. Beautiful lace and decent retention. Regenerates well. Aroma is medicinal, raisiny, dark malts with some herbal, hoppy notes and a hint of the wheaty acidity. Extremely creamy mouthfeel, full bodied, softly carbonated with a sweet, warming finish. Very pleasant but with more of an alcohol bite than I would have imagined. Girlfriend says: "Its really good."

Medium brown, with a nice fudgey and super fruity nose. Burnt, has a touch of toastiness, has a bitter taste...burly but maybe not all that complex. But thats a big brew.

If you drink too many of these, you will need to swallow your pride when you do the walk of shame. Strong, but the toasted malts hide the alcohol very well. Theres also a lot of sweetness, not quite caramel, but similar.

Bottled. Old note. The aroma has roast, chocolate, licorice. Black coloured beer with a medium sized, beige head. The taste is moderate bitter with some malty sweetness, chocolate, roast. More bitter towards the end. Nice.

Bottle, 0.50l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Pours pitch black with thin creamy brown head and poor lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, licorice and herbs. Taste starts with medium sweet and rich roasted malt, follows by chocolate, licorice and wood, mouthfeel is peppery and warming, while finish is moderate bitter. Full body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. Its a sin, if you dont like Pride...

500ml bottle pours a deep black colour with a finger of brown head that leaves very little lacing on the glass. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and roasted grains with some herbal notes and alcohol. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a roasted grain and coffee bitterness finishing with a pleasant warming from the alcohol. Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a pleasant brew that suits the style well. Recommended.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Online Store, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Saturday 14th January 2017 helping Loz cook Braised Scallops Pancetta and Peas whilst listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul show Pours pitch black with a cinder toffee coloured med head. A rather nice aroma, it is a bit tricky to eliminate the above which were cooking but I think that I can, I get a nice soft cooked sweet fruitiness, burnt demerara sugar, but with some hops lifting from the roastiness and green hoppy edge, though there is a little milky coffee. Really nice. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9
