English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So Pride simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. Were not proud to be sinners, but at least were open about it

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

Black with a large light brown head. Aroma had dark chocolate, coffee and English liquorice. Flavor was sort of sweet with plenty of burned malt, espresso coffee, liquorice and dark bitter chocolate. Towards the end hops kicked in and gave it a rather dry and bitter finish. Not overly so, just enough to balance the sweetness for the style. Oily and thick. Lovely!

500ml bottle pours a deep black colour with a finger of brown head that leaves very little lacing on the glass. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and roasted grains with some herbal notes and alcohol. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a roasted grain and coffee bitterness finishing with a pleasant warming from the alcohol. Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a pleasant brew that suits the style well. Recommended.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Online Store, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home Saturday 14th January 2017 helping Loz cook Braised Scallops Pancetta and Peas whilst listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul show Pours pitch black with a cinder toffee coloured med head. A rather nice aroma, it is a bit tricky to eliminate the above which were cooking but I think that I can, I get a nice soft cooked sweet fruitiness, burnt demerara sugar, but with some hops lifting from the roastiness and green hoppy edge, though there is a little milky coffee. Really nice. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Marstonlad (813) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2017
Bottle from a beer shop in Tallinn. Pours murky dark brown with a non-existant head. The aroma in strong: it features roasty maltiness with especially licorice prominent as well as rye pudding. Taste is light sweet initially, later more or less roasty and in the finish quite bitter a long and complex path in this taste. Licorice, rye pudding and espresso are the dominant flavours; also a wooden, peaty touch appears. The palate is full-bodied, fairly flat and smooth. Does not look attractive but taste is as brilliant as expected.

Meget smagfuld sort imp Stout, nsten for sort og kraftig i smagen. Ikke s meget l smag, da det overdves at mrk tjre smag.

Gluepot (557) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 1, 2016
Pours like motor oil and has a minimalist near black head. The nose is very understated with some coffee, malt and fruit. A complex, well blended taste profile featuring Coffee, a touch of citrus hops and some berries. Molasses, semi sweet chocolate and ripe dark berries add to the blend. A dense, sticky body. A slightly bitter aftertaste. A solid classic.

Bottle - 500ml. Pours an opaque, black body with a thin, lasting, brown foamy head. Robust malty aroma with whisky, oaky, and some roasty hints. Its complex malty/hoppy taste carries chocolate, plummy, roasty, vanilla, and whisky notes. Alcohol feel is moderate. Ends with a long, warming, bittersweet finish. Awesome 3800th rating!
