English: The sunstone - much disputed among scholars. Did the Viking navigators really have such a tool that would help them point out what was east and what was west - even on a less than sunny day? We certainly believe so. Many years later no sunstone was needed when Amager Bryghus was invaded by what very much looked like Viking ancestors of American descent. Hailing from Munster, Indiana, Chris Boggess and Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing arrived not with a vengeance but with very loud King Diamond on their portable mp3 player. This was not a day for slaughter but for brewing. And brew we did. The mellow and dangerously quaffable Arctic SunStone is proof that even Viking warriors can have a more subtle side to them. All hail to Three Floyds.

Ingredients: Water. Malts: Pale, Munich, Melanoidin. Hops: Tomahawk, Citra, Centennial, Simcoe. Yeast: UK-ale.

Bottle. Large creamy head. Cloudy yellow color. Aroma of peach, citrus, fruit, light malt. Over the palate, citrus, mango, fruit and dusty malt. Medium body, average carbonation, light dry texture. Light bitter and sweet flavor. Light fruity and citrus finish.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2017 0.5 bottle shared with Višnja666 and Pilot Goran. Cloudy dark golden to amber. Small off-white head. Light herbal hops, but mostly fruits, malts. Not balanced. Medium body, soft carbonation, light finish. Maybe old.

kajser27 (2045) - Zagreb, CROATIA - NOV 15, 2017
Hazy, orange-yellow colored, medium frothy off white head. Aroma is malty, caramel and biscuit, some citrus and fruity hops but also orange hard candy. Taste is medium sweet malt, caramel, orange hard candy, some citrus, floral and fruity hops, medium bitterness, dryish finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Feels like it died a bit somewhere between Denmark and Croatia...

Bottle, thanks kajser! Murky ochre body, white head. Huh, heavy oxidation on the aroma, malty, nutty even touches, vague apricot. Eh. Dry, light taste, apricot, soft herbal touches. This actually makes me sad. 3 months old or so, imported what, 2 months after it should have been? Still lost more than expected. This isn't a fair rating and I hope to rerate if I ever get to.

sokuzs1 (1577) - POLAND - OCT 25, 2017

Dosy? przeci?tny aromat cytrusw i tropikw ze szk?a. Odrobina limonki. W smaku dosy? tre?ciwe i pe?ne. Nasycenie trochu za wysokie. Pije si? naprawde szybko, znika ze szk?a raz dwa. Fajna jak na Ap? goryczka. Niez?e cia?o. Ca?kiem ok.

simontomlinson (590) - Blackburn, Lancashire, ENGLAND - SEP 15, 2017
Rocky beige head left a cover on a hazy dark copper coloured, lightly effervescent body. Well balanced malt & hops aroma with over ripe stewed fruit. Medium bodied, minimal carbonation & cloying. Much as the aroma with over ripe fruit, sweet malty tastes, floral notes & a fruity finish.

datrael (608) - Krakow, POLAND - SEP 7, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2017 W aromacie cytrusy, owoce tropikalne, szyszki chmielu, z czasem się ulatnia. Z wyglądu złote, średnio opalizujące, piana biała, gęsta, bardzo obfita. W smaku wytrawne, cytrusowe, żywiczne, goryczka wysoka, grejpfrutowa. Ciało smukłe, bardzo pijalne. Ogólnie wytrawna, goryczkowa, pijalna apa

Nasmar (16) - - SEP 5, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 5, 2017 Pours hazy amber with a big white head. Aroma and taste is citrus, pine and hoppy. Very hoppy and bitter finish. Hard to believe its only an apa. All hail to Three Floyds.

MelvinKalksma (1723) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 24, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2017 Aroma: 7 Medium aroma of malts, caramel, fruit, hops and citrus. Appearance: 5 Opaque golden/amber beer with a slight off-white head. Taste/Palate: 7/3 Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel and fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with hops and citrus. Overall: 15 This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Not a lot of flavour, but the quality is more than fine. Perfect appearance and a good aroma as well, but the palate could have been better.
