English: The sunstone - much disputed among scholars. Did the Viking navigators really have such a tool that would help them point out what was east and what was west - even on a less than sunny day? We certainly believe so. Many years later no sunstone was needed when Amager Bryghus was invaded by what very much looked like Viking ancestors of American descent. Hailing from Munster, Indiana, Chris Boggess and Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing arrived not with a vengeance but with very loud King Diamond on their portable mp3 player. This was not a day for slaughter but for brewing. And brew we did. The mellow and dangerously quaffable Arctic SunStone is proof that even Viking warriors can have a more subtle side to them. All hail to Three Floyds.

Ingredients: Water. Malts: Pale, Munich, Melanoidin. Hops: Tomahawk, Citra, Centennial, Simcoe. Yeast: UK-ale.

September 12, 2015 - on keg at The Kings Arms (Shoreditch). Hazy orange with a foamy white head. Solid aroma - strong resin bitterness, extra malty/grainy, not much alcohol. Taste follows - standard west coast thing, just maltier ... solid body, strong carbonation, surprisingly quick finish and no linger - quite an easy drinker - would have it again in a shot.

Panzerfaust (845) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - MAR 13, 2017
50cl bottle from Beervana. Pours a hazy orange color with medium off-white head that leaves a fine lacing. Aroma is hoppy, fruity with notes of tropical fruits, orange, passionfruit, mango and traces of citrus. Not much in terms of malt balance. Taste is bitter, but not overly so. Main flavors are fruity but coated with that citrusy (and even piney) astringency. Fairly easy to drink. Relatively low carbonated. Its a well-done Pale Ale, although I expected something special considering the price tag in Chile.

Vestergaard (2053) - Aarhus C, DENMARK - JAN 24, 2017
From tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a clearish golden orange with a small white head. Aroma has sweaty, dank citra and simcoe hops, quite a lot of malts, citrus, tropical fruits and some grassy/piny notes. Taste is juicy swet up front, gets a little grainy, finishes off slight bitter. An oily, maybe slight diacetyl-like body and a medium low carbonation

Bottle from Beer Gonzo. Murky amber body with a huge off-white head that holds. Lively carbonation. Aroma of peach, bread and pine. Flavour of grapefruit, peach and yeast. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Very fizzy. A soft, uncomplicated APA. Nice.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Online Store, Earlsdon, Coventry, consumed at home whilst cooking Wild Mushroom Pilau and Dhaniya Keema, Friday 6th January 2017 Large frothy big bubbly white head, hazy light amber in colour. In many respects this shared similar characteristics to the Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter, though perhaps this is a little bit soapy hops. Middling bitterness, not much sweetness (not a bad thing). Soft carbonation, a little watery lemonade soda thing going on. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
