Bottle:   Dark burnt caramel, thin sandy head, spotty lacing.   Pale roasted malt nose, slight sweet & sour aspect.   Seems like a little apple/pear skin, but also some light sour funk.   Roasty up front, but also
a little tartness too.   Very mild sweetness follows.   Not as sour/tart as the nose suggested, which is good.   Almost seems like a pale Schwarzbier as hops are very minor.   A bit of dark chocolate comes out at the

[2930-20100625] Sample. Boozy roasty tree bark aroma. Hazy, dark brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Roast sweet malt flavour has a long sweet aftertaste. Medium body. Nice, drinkable.

2010-06-25. Hazy dark brown-body with a small tan head. 3+ Interesting aroma, hints at roast but yeasty fruit dominates with a kiss of spice. Flavour is similarly quirky, interesting esters are weizenbock like at times (which I like), and a very light tart bite or sourness is also wheat like, light bitterness. Average palate. Brown in color, clear with a thin head. Roasty malts and toffee like flavors. The brew came off light not a thick porter flavor. This was an average porter.
