Named after Ripley’s local hero, who lived near our brewery tap, Barnes Wallis is our best selling session ale. Styled as an easy-drinking IPA-style bitter, copper-coloured for a full malt flavour and hopped with Northern Brewer and spicy Styrian Goldings.

Cask at the pub of the same name i.e The Barnes Wallis, Ripley, Derbyshire, 08-07-10 Really soapy hops in the mouth, bit too soapy for me. The bitterness shows better balance than the Dambusters IPA but still lacks something compared to that beer, a bit fruity, its ok stuff, pours gold with white rim. A5 A4 T5 P3 Ov10 2.7
