Named after Ripleys local hero, who lived near our brewery tap, Barnes Wallis is our best selling session ale. Styled as an easy-drinking IPA-style bitter, copper-coloured for a full malt flavour and hopped with Northern Brewer and spicy Styrian Goldings.

cask from Market Place Alehouse, Doncaster. Amber golden clear colour. Aroma is low coffee, caramel, herbs and citrusy. Taste is bittery and fruity, light soury. Start is malty, middle is without stronger taste and finnish is something between sour, grapefruit and bitter.

Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, sour malt notes. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, sour malt, fruity - apples. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141013]

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol, 5/6/2014. Amber with a decent, and frothy, off-white head. Well-balanced bitter, with some crisp, and slightly biscuity malts, hedgerow fruits, leafy hops and a decent, bitter finish. Enjoyable.

Pint on cask. Pours amber with a creamy white head. Aroma is grassy, roasted malt, caramel, wholemeal bread, oak. Taste is grassy and earthy with caramel and roasted malt. Medium bitterness, some chocolate and banana, light bough, medium carbonation. Dont know what an IPA-style bitter is meant to be.

Malty, toasty taste with canned fruit, toast and biscuity malt. Rather light body with balanced sweetness and a mild bitterness. Hardly exciting, but definitely drinkable.
