While very good in many regards, somehow it still comes off as being a little pretentious Certainly the label has something to do with that, but I’m speaking more to the beer itself. A little too sweet, but with a sweetness that is unrefined. etc.

Bottle best by March 2016. Pours clear dark brown with a lasting mocha head. Aroma is chocolate chews (tootsie rolls), soy sauce, black patent char, burnt caramel malt. Medium bodied, sweet with moderate acidity and medium-low bitterness. Cheap chocolate-caramel candy maltiness with a dirty acidity and syrupy-sugary malt texture. Very inauthentic malt character.

Very drinkable porter with enough sweetness in background, but still with cocoa and light roasted qualities in front. Flavor remains enjoyable after an our- sign of quality. Easy drinkable due to medium body, 8.0% well hidden. Light beige colour of foam. Properly brewed one.

Wysycenie niskie Kolor ciemny z kasztanowymi przebłyskami. Piana b. słaba, niekoronkuje

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2016 Double rating. Bottle, best before 25.04.2016. Pours deep black colour with a medium sized, tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dried fruits, some cherry - pleasant, moderate. The taste follows the above, the beer is smooth and creamy with just a delicate alcoholic note in the backgroud. I tried the beer a couple of times and I must admit that Grand Imperial Porter is in a really good shape now. Aroma 8/10 Appearance 5/5 Taste 9/10 Palate 5/5 Overall 17/20. This goes for the bottle that spent almost two years in my cellar before it was opened. The beer changed almost completely. Surmounted by a huge, tan head, the beer had a very complex and intensive aroma of belgian chocolate, loats of dried plum notes, sweet coffee, cherries dipped in alcohol and vanilla. Very rich in the taste with a wide arrange of dried stuff and a strong liquor character. Very low carbonation and strong bouquet make the beer an ideal choice for long, autumn evenings.
