UPDATED: JUN 8, 2014 A wonderful example of my favorite style. I had this back-to-back with the Weltenberger Kloster Asam Bock, which I also love, and they were frighteningly similar, like doppelgangers of one another *rim shot*

Bottle 500ml. Masterpiece. Chocolate, raisins, and vanilla. Sweet, with bitter notes, and long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy off-white head.

Pours pitch black with a tan head. Smooth creamy palate with a chocolaty, coffee taste. Smells like chocolate covered cherries. This was a great brew, one of the best porters I’ve had!

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2015 Jedno z ulubionych piw. Barwa: czarna, z refleksami rubinowymi Piana: beżowa, średnio i drobno pęcherzykowa, dość trwała, występuje koronkowanie choć nie powala. Aromat: świetny: czekloada, śliwka w czekoladzie, kawa, przypalanka. Odczucie w ustach: średnie wysycenie, przyjemne, pełne. Goryczka: średnia do niskiej Smak: ciemne owoce - śliwka/wiśnia, czekolada, lekka kwaskowość pieczywa razowego, kawa. Doskonale ukryty alkohol. W zależności od warki zauważyłem, że aromat i smak śliwki występuje lub nie. Znakomite do leżakowania: rok po dacie powala śliwką w czekoladzie... Starsze czeka na degustacje.

chocolate, coffee, nuts, a tint of alcohol, black, hazy, rocky head, tan foam, light sweetness, medium bitterness, full body, creamy, long finish... One of the best beers made by polish brewers!

Imperial porter saporita e molto particolare. Praticamente è quasi come bere caffè fatto con la moka. Sentori anche di cacao in polvere e cioccolato.

16 ounce bottle. I think this was purchased at Corti Brothers in Sacramento, CA. Aroma is sweet, chocolatey, musty, with some molasses and burnt tires, too. A bit oxidized. Nice. Moderately transparent mahogany body with a medium tan head that is pretty strong. Wow...this is pretty decadent stuff. Starts with some sweet molasses goodness, before it becomes a little oxidized in the middle with hints of cardboard. Finishes with some sweet, sugary chocolate maltiness. Ethanol is hidden nicely. There is a velvety body to this, which makes it extremely drinkable. Now this is what I call a Baltic Porter!

Darkover (1538) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 13, 2011
Black with a big long lasting tan head. Aroma is very rich with raisin, licorice, dark fruits, chocolate, Taste is very sweet, full body, slick feel, soft carbonation.
