Clear dark red to brown color, light brown head. Milky, sweet, malty scent. Sweet, malty, grainy, raissin taste. Smooth mouthfeel, low to medium low bitterness. Bitter chocolate aftertaste.
very solid baltic. good balance between heft of body and drinkability. smooth and broodingly chocolatey and malty, with some nice notes of saaz-like hops and an intriguing wineyness that could almost be a touch of horsey brett. bitter enough to balance but a soft long noble hop bitterness. not overwhelmingly huge in roasty flavour or sweetness or alcohol punch, just quiet, balanced, subdued and subtle. good for a rainy night in. douglas88 (9622) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 13, 2010
500 ml bottle from Tres Bonne Cuisine. Drank at cellar temperature. Pours out a totally black color with a medium cream colored head. A very nice nose; sweet toasted malts, chocolates, sugars. A flavor that defines the Baltic Porter; sweet dry malts, chocolate, smooth, chalky, heavily roasted. Very nice. Smooth as velvet. ekstedt (6976) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 18, 2010
Bottle (50 cl), thanks gnoff. Dark reddish brown, medium beige head. Malty aroma with notes of fudge and chocolate, and some herbal hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Well balanced. This is a doppelbock in my book, and a very good such. Rosebud butternuts (2408) - Denton, Texas, USA - DEC 15, 2010
bottle thanks to bhensonb. poured dark brown with a beige head. aroma was chocolate, grain, and sweet. flavor was much the same plus raisin.

Bottle, into a snifter. Deep black color, full but rather quickly dissipating coarse dark tan head. Wonderful, rich chocolate and raisins some smoke and roasted malts are on the nose. Flavors are similar, some dark brown sugar and a little wet wood as well. fairly sweet, even for a Baltic. Lively carbonation and a rather lighter body than others of the style. Lingering smokey slightly bitter trailer. Boliv (1150) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 7, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2011 16.9oz bottle, and the first (new) beer of 2011. Pours very deep reddish brown, opaque in the glass, with a 3-finger frothy brown head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, brown sugar and sugar cane, hazelnut, and vanilla. Flavors of toffee, caramel, sugar cane, mocha/latte, and milk chocolate. Low carbonation, creamy and smooth, and warming; the alcohol is well-hidden. This was quite the tasty beer, and for $2.50/bottle, a great deal; I’ll be getting a few more of these. poisoneddwarf (2639) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - JAN 22, 2011
16.9 oz bottle into English pint. Pours black with deep burgandy hues showing through when held up to the light. Has a medium light tan head that dissipates in a couple of minutes leaving a blanket of foam and some lace. Aroma is ripe black cherries, Whoppers, a hint of roasted coffee. Taste is bittesweet with a touch of sour. Has a milk chocolate taste. The coffee flavor is much more pronounced in flavor than aroma. Flavor is not as strong as the aroma. Carbonation and body are medium. Not bad ’tall. Reid (2622) - Salem, Oregon, USA - NOV 3, 2011
UPDATED: FEB 7, 2012 Euro style 500ml bottle from "Lifesource", S.Salem. $2.45
Very very classy bottle presentation.
Deep deep black beer with a very nice frothy, bubbly tan head.
Fine dark, deep dank coffee, toast, dark chocolate, fig aroams assault the nose, pickin up some cream, and slight funk..very nice.
Sweet side of Baltic Porter here..sweet with creamy undertones and figs/date fruitiness, bitter coffee after taste.
Ok on the tongue..slightly less than expected but that enhances drinkability.
Good beer for a cheap price..thinking this would be an excellent Christmas dinner dessert beer.
