Cask handpull at The Talbot Taphouse after Nuneaton’s historic and unlikely [email protected]
Ruby-slicked beige. Soft milk chocolate and cherry liqueur nose. Bland cherry and digestives feel low in flavour at the strength. Moderate plum, leaves and lactic touches. A little sweet and vapid.
Cask. Deep ambery brown colour, mediumsized foamy head. Aroma is sweet malts, some nutty notes with wood, herbs and mild toffee. Flavour is much the same with the caramel and herbs being more evident. Big floral grassy bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Ober (2812) - Bommelerwaard, NETHERLANDS - NOV 18, 2011

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Loads of beers shared with ChrisO and Harrisoni - Cheers! Clear dark brown beer. No head. Light dry palate, no carbonation. Sweet toffee malt. Some nicely balanced orange and dried fruits - tangy. Alright! Quite a sweet beer overall.
Cask (gravity dispense) as Winter Ruby Fireside Ale. Beer #9 at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival on 3 February 2011. Definitely ruby in colour with no head. Condition didn’t seem too lively. Sweetish. Quite fruity on the palate. Otherwise, respectable but not a whole lot happening. Judging from other comments it may not have been at its best on this occasion. Flagged for re-rate.

Cask gravity at Chelmsford Winter BF 2011. Very deep ruby lasting near white head. Fruity strong bitter with some very attractive cherry flavours. Ok. But lacks a little body on the swallow. Tasty but just lacks something Borresteijn (7016) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 3, 2010
Cask at Guildford Arms, Edinburgh, Scotland. Chestnut colour, off white head. Aroma of cognac, fruity. Flavour is cognac, fruity, caramel, light bitter finish. Light bodied, oily mouthfeel. Tasty. BeerCast_Rich (1906) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 1, 2010
[cask at the Guildford Arms, Edinburgh] Deep, dark red ale with spicy aromas from the Saaz mingling with chocolate roasty aromas. For some reason, it tasted like a chocolate milkshake - rich, smooth and really nice on the palate. Once I’d got that in my head, it wouldn’t shift – thick, roasted chocolate flavour all the way down. Lovely cgarvieuk (24454) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 29, 2010
