Not too bad, some nice malt flavours and some sweet, fruity notes. Not something I would order often. Cinctus (201) - - DEC 22, 2013
Actually really enjoyed it. Entirely drinkable all day long. Lots of fruits, almost Ribena-like in flavour. Pours nice strong ruby red, mild malt notes, and almost too watery. Solid beer. TheRatKing (122) - Alberta, CANADA - OCT 6, 2013
Taster’s pack into my Trappist chalice because I am too lazy to go and get my proper glass. Pours a nice burnt amber colour, minimal fizz and head, though probably because it’s a bit old. This is why I hate screw-caps. Nose is warm, toasted biscuit, attractive. Taste is surprisingly rich, though a bit on the sharpish side. Biscuit and slight chocolate and coffee, slow to finish. Not too bad, though would be better if it would make up its mind between porter-like flavour and red sharpness. DuffMan (10435) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 25, 2013
Draft sample @ Edmonton Craft Beer Festival. Medium amber brown, scant head. Unusually chocolatey aroma. Lots of coos on the palate too, earthy, with a low tea-like hop finish. Thin. Not a fan. gramity (1668) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 29, 2013
Weird reddish color. Aroma of sweet cherry, some citrus, and a touch of toffee. Flavor is weak and understated with some bready notes. Bit too sweet from the malts for me. Didn’t enjoy it. Ambers is seemingly dying a slow and unsightly death.

I don’t know if what I had was spoiled but the server said it tasted like this from when they got it. Pours a unsightly maroon with little head. Aroma of Dr. Pepper, cough medicine - taste is bad - sour, bitter, no balance to be found. I want to support the locals but I won’t be repeating this one. reebtogi (6277) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 11, 2012
Pint on tap at the Nola Restaurant pours a dark amber color with a small white head with no lacing on the glass. Aroma is light citrus and earthy hops with hints of caramel. Taste is malty caramel sweetness with a mild earthy and citrus hoppy bitter finish. Medium body and light carbonation. Overall, a pretty decent amber lager with a nice balance of flavors. On tap at Craft Beer Market in Calgary, AB on 09/17/2011. Colour: Dark red, low head. Nose: Cherry, sour grapes, cheap milk chocolate. Taste: medium-light sweet, medium-light bitter, medium-light sour. Mixed pot of berries and sweet malt.. Just not tasty. Another Amber’s bust. On tap at Wunderbar. I’ve been told that this is pretty much the vampire sap without the sap. Murky dull brown amber with a thin head after a minute. On first smell I’m not impressed. Dull biscuit, light citrus of the lemon variety but not of the highly hopped variety, weak caramel and a bit of dank. The flavour also does not inspire me to get another pint as it is a bit weird. Biscuit and off-sweet caramel, unknown fruit with a light citrus twang, borderline chemical note on the middle, light light bitterness. Mild carbonation and I’m glad I finished this beer as everytime I picked it up to have a pull I would tilt the glass and frown. This is so far from what I wanted to enjoy.
