OllieBBommel (1531) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 13, 2013
[email protected], Bamberg. Head: firm beige foam. Colour: misty (too cold or not filtered), yellow. Aroma: yeast, sour. Taste: small bitter, some sour. Palate: watery, light bitter, medium CO2. Overall: ok.

gunnar (9098) - Sandnes, NORWAY - JUN 6, 2013
On tap in Bamberg. Pours murky amber with a big creamy light tanned head. Aroma of sweet caramel. Taste is sweet dark caramel, some very light roast in the end.

JK (6162) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - MAY 5, 2013
At the brewery in Bamberg. Brown/red color. Fairly tall head, lacing the glass. Grains and very light roasted. Simple, but fine for what it is.

sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - APR 7, 2013
Poured a dark reddish brown with a large frothy off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt. Medium body, flavour is sweet nutty malt, but again not very well balanced.

Russo (2011) - Hemhofen, GERMANY - DEC 30, 2012
Pour dark amber color with a small off-white head. Light caramel/toffee aroma. Flavor is pretty much the same with some light bitterness. Mouthfeel is sweet.

McWorta (1627) - LUXEMBOURG - AUG 20, 2012
Light amber colour. Noses of wet hot stones, grass and lightly roasted malts. Tatses of bbq/wood a bit smoked. Bit lively CO2. Medium body, bit slick and rasping on the tongue. Wished for more finish!

cubs (10636) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 29, 2012
Tap @ brewery. Hazy dark orange appearance with an off white head. Light buttery, toasty, earthy, light nutty aroma. Tangy, dark fruity, garbage, nutty flavor. Not very good.

ganache (5910) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 9, 2012
Tap from the source. Hazy chestnut body, lacing beige head. Light caramel an toffee, but the body reveals a very interesting nuttiness - to my buds, peanuts, clear as day. Light-medium body, some fruitiness.

Braudog (6719) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - DEC 11, 2011
Draft at the brewpub. Not very dark for a "dunkel" - more of an amber, I’d say. Quite "bubbly" as a travel companion noted, airy and quite filling. Both beers we tried here had an odd bubblegum essence that was less than appealing. (#4397, 12/3/2011)

ogivlado (7839) - Zagreb, CROATIA - OCT 19, 2011
Beer No. 102 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Draught at the brewpub. Murky amber coloured, small off-white head, pretty neutral nose, just tiny hint of caramel. Toasted malty, caramel and light fruity with mild hoppiness in the finish. Simple dunkel.
