Dark brown beer with a moderate head. It has a nice aroma: malty, chocolate, a little hay and dark fruits and a little alcohol. Taste is roasted malts, banana and coriander and has a light bitterness, very little sweetness. Body is medium, carbonation a bit high for my liking. It has a dry finish.
Bottled. 15cl sample. The aroma has caramel sweetness, hint of banana’s, spice. Hazy, orange-brown coloured beer with a medium sized off-white head. The taste is moderate sweet and has caramel sweetness and spicy yeast tones mainly. Medium bodied, not an easy drinker. WillemsUrenkel (1823) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - SEP 22, 2016
0,3 l bottle from my brother´s last Ameland stay. Thanks a lot! Unclear pale amber in the glass with a small head. Sweet malty on the nose, wheat. Taste starts alcoholic, marzipan, fruity. Dry elements in the middle part. Peach fruity to the end. Low carbonated. No easy drinkin´ stuff. kappldav123 (6097) - GERMANY - SEP 10, 2016
Huge thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks very simple, but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, but almost no head. Starts intense malty, roasty, light moldy, some grasy-earthy notes. Light alcoholic. Finish more balanced. Nice! tricksta_p (4561) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - AUG 6, 2016
Bottle at home. Aroma is wheat, malt, boiled vegetables, dimethyl sulfide, yeast, ripe fruits, spices. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and light bitter with some light wheaty sourness. Body is medium. I couldn’t get past the unpalatable boiled vegetables aroma. Bad bottle? I see only one other person reporting this blatant off-flavour. adamnowek (2644) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JAN 30, 2016
Fairly hazy appearance. Thick, sticky head that lasts. Taste is somewhat sweet with a bit of spice. Carbonation is fairly high.

Bottle, pours hazy amber with an off white head. Yeasty aroma, clove, banana, some more clove. Bready taste with spices, brown sugar, banana, some red fruit. Not too sweet, nice bitterness, creamy texture, medium light body, lively carbonation. Nice. DwarfeD (3454) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - JUN 11, 2015
Tasting at Amelander Bierbrouwerij. Somewhat hazy dark amber with a small slightly off-white head. Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with subtle bitterness. Malts, caramel, ripe fruits, spices and herbs. An ok weizen bock. tandembrauer (1475) - Stavanger, NORWAY - JUL 12, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2016 Bottle bought directly at the brewery. Cloudy, dark amber with thick, but quite unstable head. Aroma of malt, light bread, vegetables, and dried fruit. Taste sweet with slightly fruity sourness and a little umami. High carbonation. Bitter aftertaste.
Rerate 2016-01-24: Too much DMS; tastes like a beginner’s brew using malt extract. Not nice at all! HermanW (1069) - Coevorden, NETHERLANDS - JUN 20, 2014
300 ml fles. Gedronken bij een forellenkweker op ameland. Lekker bier en een mooie schuimkraag. Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2013
Bottle: Thanks Shivandragon: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Medium sized vast, thick, sticky and really slow changing creamy white foamy head on top of a beautiful cloudy amber colored beer.
Aromas of orange, manure, yeast, some soap and flowers, hint of malts, hops, citrus, hay and floral tones.
Flavours of hops, citrus, some grains, bitters, toast, yeast, liquorice wood, nettle, light dry, herbs, malts, some hay, bitter roosvicee tints and some flowers.
Aftertaste is a mix of hops, citrus, floral, bitter, light dry and hay/grainy.
Low carbo, soft creamy light spicy mouthfeel, good medium bodied and a creamy texture.
