Hazy light amber color. Unpleasant aroma, paper and puke. Average flavor of malt and caramel, with strong bitterness but no fresh qualities.
Tap @ Taphouse Grill, Seattle. Nice head with good duration. Color is hazy golden. Aroma and taste are straw, hops, flowers, caramel notes pine and malt. mcberko (17809) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 23, 2013
On tap at Rogue Wet Bar, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite dry and full of piney hops. Flavour brings out dry piney hops, floral notes and fairly harsh astringency on the finish - just enough crisp biscuity malt to back. Quite drinkable and thirst-quenching, but nothing overly interesting. Good stuff. Oakes (17642) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 13, 2014
Amber, a little chewy, earthy hop, quite a bit chewy, lots of crystal. So un-Seattle. The hops end up being quite muted and you end up with an oversized amber, which to me doesn’t really work.

Bottle, 22oz. A hazy, dark amber colored beer topped by a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma escaping the bottle immediately after opening it was wonderwul, tropical fruits and pine cones in abundance. When poured into the glass, it’s still nice, but the maltyness is a bit too evident I think. Some caramel and bready notes. In the flavor the bitterness is king, but the caramel, bready malts do what they can to smoothen it out. Pine cones, some pineapple and a grassy touch too. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish with citrus peel, canned pineapples syrup and bitterness. Fortunately not as malty as the initial flavor. Certainly a beer I could drink more of, even though I prefer my IPA’s less malty. 130630 Benzai (15579) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JAN 16, 2012
Sampled @ RBBWG Antwerpen. Courtesy of ajax25g. Hazy dark orange color, small off-white head. Lovely hoppy smell. Taste malts, hops, bitter. Decent IPA, not outstanding but just good. Ferris (15235) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle - Grapefruit and some pine with a malty backbone. Clear copper with a foamy head. Grapefruit and resin with a strong bitterness that tapers quickly. You can feel the alcohol in the finish. Not bad. bhensonb (15187) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 11, 2011
Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy light amber with a foamy 3 finger off-white head. Lots of hop aroma - starts like pine but goes citrus. Med body. There’s lots of hop over a nice caramel backbone. But the hop seems primarily resinous. Then at the finish it’s grapefruit rind. Passing challenging. Really good, really hoppy. Ratman197 (14822) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - FEB 3, 2012
Bomber poured a clear tarnished copper with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, pine, skunk bud, grapefruit and light orange zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, pine and grapefruit with a smoth dry lingering bitter finish.
