3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Serving: from tap at Vostok Dumpling House
Aroma: light malt.
Appearance: no head. Dark brown/black body.
Taste: lightly acidic, coffee initial flavor and lightly bitter, heavily roasty, coffee finish with long duration.
Palate: heavy body, with dry texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: very good.
Poured from the bottle purchased in North Bend, WA into a small glass to drink. The beer had a smooth dark brown-black color with a very large creamy dark tan head with great retention, and very good cling and lacing. Its aroma featured a roasty malt blend with notes of chocolate, coffee, and a strong oatmeal presence, along with light earthy hops. The taste was fairly sweet and rich with notes of chocolate, caramel, oatmeal and just a touch of cereal and bitterness. The beer was exceptionally smooth and creamy with lower carbonation and lighter, fresh mouthfeel. bulldogops (2907) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 20, 2016

Bottle thanks to duchammer: Poured a pitch black with tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and licorice notes. The aroma got me excited, but the taste was a roast and metallic mess. TimE (6130) - Tokyo, JAPAN - NOV 4, 2015
Sweet lactose lots of oatmeal and decent roastiness. Well balanced but could be smoother mouth. Decent

Draft at the brewery. Dark brown, bubbly head, sweet, rich molasses, lots of bitterness but a pile of malt as well. Sticky, touch of alcohol in the finish. Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - MAR 18, 2015
Pours a deep brown color with an oatmeal and malt aroma. Taste is slight chocolate mixed with oatmeal. Rather thin, any and all flavors quickly dissipate and disappear. Surprisingly aluminum flavor after the swallow. GenkiGonzo (1096) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 26, 2015

Completely dark with a thick brown foam. Aromas of bitter chocolate. Thick and smooth mouthfeel with coffee bitterness, vanilla, and espresso flavor. A significant stout to be sure.
