Colonel Jibbs "Biscuit" McQueen was a star ace in the Wicked Witchs flying 666th during the 2nd Yellow Brick Rebellion. Known as the scourge of the Emerald City Rebels, this brave Colonels nose for danger, unparalleled marksmanship and golden razor-sharp wings made widows of countless Lollipop Guildsmen in Arms. One day, a house came out of the blue and clipped Biscuits wings. Doomed to hop around like his less evolved ancestors, he sat in pubs drinking ales and rambling of building a flying ship that would return him to his former glory. Wed like to think that this hop-forward ale with a biscuit-y malt body finishes dry and is as balanced as the Colonel was before he went mad trying to return to the skies. Bottoms up fly boy. - See more at: http://americanbrewing.com/our-beer/flying-monkey-pale-ale/#sthash.zSIrqvp9.dpuf

Bomber, pours a slightly hazy orange color with a fizzy white head that faded quickly and leaves spotty soapy lacing. Smells of pine, citrus and caramel. Tastes of all the same things that are in the smell. Mouthfeel is medium and chewy with great carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall this is a pretty solid pale ale. Well balanced flavor and stays true to the northwest style. Brewed for ECC this year. Wish it was available year round.

Rating #2084- 2015.09.27 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 4, Beer 186 - Bottleshare - Pretty sure we got a 2013 bottle but no visible bottled on or expiry. Poured a golden amber with a bubbly white head that disapparated. Aroma is metallic, light grass, strong vegetal. Palate is more of the same, wet dog in rain soaked weeds behind your fenceline. Add to re-rate list.

Lynnwood, Wa, - Total Wine, 12 oz can. Slight haze to the medium orange pour, light creamy snow white head. Aroma of orange marmalade and light spruce. Flavor has some cake mix sweetness, a touch of light citrus bitterness, some back end nuttiness in the finish, thick enough mouthfeel. Enjoyed this after hiking all day in North Cascades National Park. Rating #5 of 2016 vacation.

Draft - Caramel hops and a touch of spice. Clear gold with a decent white head. Touch of spice and Carmel with some peppery notes. Odd for an APA, almost Rye like.

Orange-amber with a white head. Aromas of ripe fruit, overripe citrus, melon-ish, peach, apple juice, bread, and caramel. Tastes of berry, caramel, peach, bread, grain, medium bitterness, pushing a bit high for a pale. Medium body, slightly sweet finish.

So so. Probably won't buy it again but it was worth a try. I have had other beers from this brewery and they are good.

Can from Total Wine.

Deep amber-orange pour, off-white head with good lacing. The nose brings a lot of caramel and even some tired hops; surprising because this one has not been sitting on the shelf for all that long (arrived at the store 50 days ago, 7/17/15). Not unpleasant, just lackluster like the other American beers I have had (with the exception of the marvelous Capt. Munsons).

Bomber from a Safeway in Lynwood, WA. Pours golden amber with a very slight head. I cant parse the aroma. Dusty fruit? Med body. Flavor is something like dusty stone fruit. Its bitter, and maybe the hop includes citrus. Certainly drinkable. Really gets bitter in the long haul, and thats a good thing.

Poured from a bomber into a beer can glass on 06.30.14. A: Lemon, citrus, maybe caramel. Subdued hops like older style APAs. A: 3 finger head. See through caramel/amber body. The head stays. Nice lacing. T: Lemon, citrus, and sour acid dominate. Grass, grain, and a chemical finish are subtle. P: Crisp. A bit watery. O: This seemed to be more of a balanced APA than hop forward at first. A creeping sour acidic flavor then overwhelmed everything else throughout the whole experience. It lingered for a long time, so this was a drain pour. Maybe it was infected? Greg from gregsbeerreviews had a video about a similar experience with this brewer. Aside from possible infection or QC problems, grain was not a great flavor in an APA.

As far as American goes, this one is a keeper. Very straightforward APA with enough malt, hop, and bitterness to keep a snob like me happy.
