A red that lives up to its name. Clear deep red color. Rich malty smells the malts come on first then the hops come on to balance it out.. Amazingly refreshing for how full the flavor is. Light and enjoyable aftertaste. marcus (10466) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAY 10, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. Pours reddish amber with a foamy off-white head and a bready aroma. There is a medium-bodied smoked malt flavor with a nice raspy finish that sticks to the palate. Fatehunter (2582) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - SEP 20, 2013
Poured a finger of head on a clear, caramel colored body.
The aroma is nice, but interesting for a red ale: chocolate and milk.
The taste is balanced: mild sweet caramel and mild bitterness. Quite drinkable.
The texture is smooth with moderate carbonation.

Tap: dark amber pour with a small tan head. Aroma is soft with malt, a light toast and a liytle grain. Flavor is lightly sweet with malt turning into a tart grass hoppiness, bread and a grainy, yeast bitter finish. I like it with my meal, nice flavors but kind of filling.
