Draft. A hazy yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of funk, wood, and lemons. The flavor is acidic with notes of funk, wood, and lemons, leading to a dry finish.

ineedbeer (2266) - Oakland, California, USA - NOV 22, 2016
Poured from a 375 ml bottle.
Aroma is very similar to the regular version with strong floral and herbal characteristics. Medium acidity with some light citrus, stone fruit and tropical fruit notes. Light grapes and grape must notes with hints of oak. A light sulfur note.
Pours a slightly hazy, pale, yellow gold color with a faint, thin, forced, white head that recedes immediately to the edges where it lingers for more time than I was expecting. No lacing or legs.
Flavor is not as impressive as the aroma and a bit muted. moderate acidity with lemon and hints of pineapple. Some light stone fruit notes with moderate floral notes and hints of herbal phenolics. Faint oak. Some light sherry notes with hints of grape must. Medium bitterness and a bit of a washed out flavor.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, but somewhat watery with low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, an alright beer, but I like the regular version more. The floral and herbal notes are nice and this is a bit fruitier than the regular version, but the mouthfeel is worse and it has an odd, washed out, watery flavor in the finish.
