rarbring (2295) - Linköping, SWEDEN - AUG 15, 2012
Aroma: The smell is fruity, red and dark forest fruits, some roasted coffee and brown sugar.
Appearance: The brew is dark brown, almost black, has a tan head that leaves some lacing, and has some curtains.
Taste: Tasting burnt bread, red sour fruits, and an off-putting bitterness.
Palate: Low carbonation, coarse, a medium body, dry.
Overall: Nope, did not work for me, sour and rather unpleasant bitterness.
Note: Bottle 750 ml. Reviewed 2012-08-15.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Black, small head. Citric nose covering an earthy flavour with tobacco and licorice. Medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Strange lactic, gingery notes. Low bitterness.

750ml bottle. Pours a really dark brown, with a light brown head. The aroma is quite complex – lots of roasted notes, coffee, malt, chocolate, wood (?), vanilla, smoke, tobacco. Off-dry, medium bodied, medium bitterness, balanced CO2. The taste is rather elegant, and fine-limbed, lots of coffee and roasted malts, hops, smoke, tobacco, earth. A little more body wouldn’t harm, but at 5,5% it’s pretty darned good. (2012-03-06)

Birra scura bevuta in bottiglia presenta profumi di cioccolato e caffè con una schiuma di grana fine di media persistenza. Al palato risulta essere un pò acidula ma i sentori di cioccolato e caffè la rendono equilibrata.

Wolfbass (1186) - Firenze, ITALY - JAN 7, 2011
Colore scuro con discreta schiuma. L’aroma è principalmente di caffè, in bocca è beverina con buon gusto prevalentemente di cioccolato fondente.

Bottle 750ml.
Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, moderate caramel, chocolate, ala a oyster stout. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, light salty, swettnes is caramel and chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Ungstrup (38154) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 10, 2010
Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt, as well as medium notes of soy sauce, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of soy sauce, roasted malt, and wood, leading to dry finish. The body is light. Thanks fonefan for sharing.
