Nitro. Pours black with a large, creamy, light brown head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (burnt grain, coffee), average hops (flowers), average yeast (leather) with notes of prune and tar. Full bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness and acidity, heavy bitterness. drjay44 (3831) - Salida, Colorado, USA - DEC 11, 2008
Tap at the brewery. 6% ABV. The usual foamy body leading eventually to a creamy head, typical of a nitrogen dispensed brew, with the expected great head duration....over a clear, dark brownish red body....nose is bready, yeasty....tastes of roast malts with coffee predominating, fairly dry throught out with mildly bitter finish....creamy mouth feel. A very nice brew.
