drjay44 (3832) - Salida, Colorado, USA - MAY 14, 2009
Draught at the Brewpub. Pours a thin head, with minimal lacing, over a clear dark golden (SRM15) body...nose is lightly bready, yeasty, slight citrus, no real pine......tastes sweet early and slowly evolves into a mild bitter finish....mouth feel is medium, carbonation light. This is a light touch to the American Strong style. It is much more an English or Belgian style of strong ale than a "West Coast" type. I will re-rate later.
