Strong Scotch Ale. A mais complexa e inebriante variedade da AMPHORA, repleta de misticismo com os seus toques de caramelo e florais. A companheira ideal para pratos de peixe, aves, ou então para aquele momento a dois num belo pôr-do sol.

Got a 50cl bottle from the brewer himself, João Palmeira. This is a really interesting beer. Dark copper color with thin head. Taste is a bit of all, light sweet, light bitter and light sour. Nice and balanced. Body is medium and texture is lightly sticky. Carbonation is medium and the finish and long and bitter. Nice! Aroma is medium malty, light caramel, herbs, spices, pepper, some alcohol, some wood, cellar. Very good!

Bottle in Boheme, Faro. Pours hazy brown with a frothy cream head. Aroma of fruits and caramel. The taste is spicy with slightly fusty stewed fruits. Thin bodied with high carbonation. I wasn’t overly keen at first, but it grew on me. OK.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2016 Copper body, yellowish head, flimsy head. Light sweet cookie malts, dry peaches, little complexity or hop, although the fermentation is okay. Flat, bit cloying. Too sweet for me, but it?s the style, luckily there’s also a (intended?) sourness. Okay brew. (33cl bottle from Bohemia Faro)

UPDATED: APR 29, 2016 Botella 33 cl del Kraken tomada en Belmonte 28..04..2016. (r21). Nececitaria mejorar bastante. Normal normal.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy amber with a gigantic, fizzy beige head that dissipates completely. Some burned caramel in the nose but also a lurking lactic tartness. Medium body, very fizzy in the mouth, the lemony and lactic infection now dominates completely. Pity. 231215

Backlog rating. Bottle at the Chriso’s May tasting, London. It pours a light brown color with a small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, with notes of caramel, toasted bread, dates, dough. Taste is sweet and yeasty, with notes of biscuit, caramel, spicy yeast, dried leaves. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, not sure about this one
