Can. Golden body, disappearing head. Thin malty aroma. Sweet malty taste with a very mild hoppy finish. Better than Heineken because you can actually taste some hops in this one. Clean and simple taste with no faults. One of the better macro lagers out there.

33cl from tap in Valladolid. Regular lager, nothing worthwhile of mentioning. Pale yellow, lack of aroma.

Pint at Mason's Arms, Kensal Rise. Aromas are malts with subtle citrus. Clear golden with white head. Taste is crisp malts with citrus finish. Drinkable and refreshing. OK pale lager.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2017 Tap in Spain. Good foamy head for a lager and nice amber colour. Hops and grain to the nose. Lightly carbonated with a good grainy syrup taste. Much better ordered as a caña instead of a pint, stays cooler and more drinkable.

Amstel Lager. Brewed under license in Cape Town, South Africa.
Amazed I haven't rated this one after drowning in it in Amsterdam years back. Into its own straight wall glass. Light, golden amber and shimmeringly bright through the lights. Typically perfect, chemist lab head; shiny and well held atop a thin body. Bran cereal, cardboard, dust and lightly floral hops greet the nose. Palate is similar. Breakfast cereal dominates a predominately dry palate. Old, stale hop finish, lightly floral like the nose but more akin to pot pourri. Medial, low bitterness. Oddly sweet finish with residual, cereal sugars. I'd have no problem downing this one over watching a few football matches, but to judge it it is pretty sub-par. a gold standard of dutch lager. has an earthy, somewhat more robust taste than heineken or lindeboom. goes down far, far too easily. i am referring to the glasses i have had on draught whilst in holland. bottled varieties available in the uk seem a lot more disappointing.

Light golden. Medium to thin body with lots of carbonation. Floral tastes & sleghtly sweet on the back.

0.5l bottle. Golden color with low white head. Aroma: malt, syrup, grain. Taste: quite sweet, malty, syrup. Light body, moderate carbonation. Low bitterness. Boring macro.

jann3 (398) - Espoo, FINLAND - JUL 23, 2017
Clear golden with bright white head. Aroma is mild with sweetish maltiness and a hint of bitterness. Taste is rather similar, mild and malty with some dryish flavours at the finish. Simple but drinkable bulk lager which goes well with food. (500ml can @ KUN airport lounge)
