Not one for light beers unless playing a drinking game. This only made me reinforce that habit. This is weak, weak, weak. Vac (2445) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 4, 2002
Not much flavor or aroma but more than you get from most light beers. the aroma was sour and bitter and the flavor was malty with a hint of bitter hoppiness. Uglyradio (791) - Greenville, South Carolina, USA - OCT 2, 2002
UPDATED: MAY 1, 2003 This light lager pours a clear, pale, yellow color with a small, fizzy, white head that rapidly dissipates into nothing. The aroma is slightly grainy, but really is almost non-existent. Fizzy on the palate, the beer has a light body and a flavor that is not exactly bad, but not really good. It has that typical cheap lager flavor, albeit a little lighter than most. Very bland with no hops or malts present, and it is very weak in ABV, even for a light. Pass on this and get a Sam Adams light if you actually prefer light beers.

The best light beer I’ve tried to date. As far as appearance, I prefer a darker, richer color. odelay (37) - fuquay-varina, North Carolina, USA - SEP 26, 2002
OVERRATED! 3.5%ABV? c’mon! light beer is light beer. period. drink good stuff, like bass.

The best "light" beer there is. GregL40 (97) - Massachusetts, USA - SEP 20, 2002
Good hoppy taste for a light beer. Wish there was more alcohol in it though. Very refreshing. Keeps the night moving pleasantly, with a little more style then the macroshit. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 16, 2002
Gold Color, large head. Hoppy light tasting, with some malt flavor. Kind of thin mouthfeel, but it is a light beer. Not to bad. Typical pilsner. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. VA Homebrewer (525) - Portsmouth, Virginia, USA - SEP 10, 2002
Clear yellow color with a bleached white head that doesn’t last seems typical for light or American Standard type beers and this one is no different. Mildly skunky and bitter. It’s relative dryness as compared with other macros is it’s best attribute, but that isn’t saying much considering it isn’t really that dry. Overall it is one of the most drinkable of all the macroswill, but I would still do my best to avoid anything approaching the reprehensibility of this beer. scottyg (79) - Gainesville, Florida, USA - SEP 2, 2002
Not a big fan of light beers overall, and definitely not a huge fan of this one. Bitter and a bit skunky, I wasn’t very impressed. There are better light beers available in grocery stores.
