Why? Just stop drinking beer if you need to lose weight so badly. At 3.5%, you'll drink twice as many of these to catch up with your buddies, and end up with more calories. Panzuriel (2380) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - AUG 26, 2002
The king of the light beers before Sam Adam's light. A good full flavored light beer with a clean, if a little thin, mouthfeel. Can get skunky and old despite the bottle color. Fascinating. Braudog (6837) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - AUG 23, 2002
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2006 The best light beer, I think. Presents with a nice easy malt/grain aroma and flavor. Light tart little bigte at the end. Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - AUG 21, 2002
This wasn't too bad for being brewed in mass quantities. Fairly easy to drink. Taste is not appaling, but that's because there is a significant lack of taste. Oh well. zborgerd (187) - Illinois, USA - AUG 21, 2002
Dirty. Watered down Heineken. Lightly malty taste. Slightly skunky (Heneken-esque) aroma.

A good light beer, but sam adams has to be on of the best - if you can call thier light a light beer. THis has not much flavor or aroma, but there is nothing too offensive about it, so therefore it cant get the worst rating. ddipaolo (26) - USA - AUG 17, 2002
Pretty plain beer in general, but far superior to its brewery counterpart, Heineken. Good for a light beer, but nothing exceptional. PorterPounder (8294) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 12, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2005 Rerate The only reason I drank it this time was to get a free pint glass - man - there is no flavor in here whatsoever - only redeeming quality is that it is low in ABV - so you can drink a lot of these and not lose your edge. 2nd rerate 2.7 1st Rerate Been a while since I had one of these - just not quite as crisp and refreshing as they used to be - palate has matured somewhat; rather thin and watery, not much of a malt or hop presence Original 3.2 So, this is what the yuppies drink? Not bad for a light and not as skunky as its counterpart Heineken. Good choice at an airport bar when there is no alternative. Crisp, refreshing - easy to drink. This beer is horrible...definitely not as advertised. Boring and almost entirely without taste Ernest (7822) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - AUG 7, 2002
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is
clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), trace hops (herbs),
with a light note of solvent. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is moderately bitter, unclean. Light to medium body, watery
texture, fizzy carbonation. An unbalanced grainy/plasticine mess.
