Mackeon (163) - - AUG 31, 2015
A very sweet beer used in olden days to take the bitter edge off pilsener, particularly by women, who also used to drink it shortly after giving birth, to improve their lactation. Not to be drunk for enjoyment...

markextrae (4424) - Alingsås, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - APR 20, 2015
backlog rating, we use this to blend a part with pils to make it sweeter, anyway, dark brown poured with a tanned head. caramel, chemical sweetness, malts, sugar, tooffee, very sweet, don’t know why you should drink this straight

The smell and taste remind me oft alcohol free malt beverages. Very strong caramel and syrupy taste. Hop aroma and taste is only very faint. I loved it with 16 and still like it sometimes, for sentimental reasons.

Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Malzbier der absolut klebrigen Art. Vitamalz ist dagegen schon herb. Hat nicht viel mit einem Bier gemein.

blackisle (2585) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - NOV 13, 2013
Opaque brown-red , tan head that vanishes fast, no lacing; sugar sweet nose, syrup, herbs; very sweet sugary taste; light body; short sweet finish.

Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - AUG 6, 2011
Bottle: Off white light tan head on top of a dark reddish brown beer. Smell is sweet with hints of darker fruits, malts and an overload of brown sugarly candy sweets. Taste is a pretty unbalanced mix of sweets, sugars, syrup, malts, darker fruits and herbs. Unbalanced grassy sweet aftertaste.

Quinten (1062) - zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JUL 5, 2008
Brown, no lasting head, lots of sweeds do a regular ..oud bruin.

dvr012000 (4) - BELGIUM - FEB 8, 2003 does not count
must be the worst beer in the world, to sweet, bad smell and luckily a short after taste

jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - FEB 16, 2002
Ok, Oud Bruin isn’t my favorite Dutch lager type beer. But still I must be objective. And as I am this beer sucks! Smells like grass and dirt. Very dark brown-red coloured. Light brown head that diminishes fast. No lacing. Flavors, except for very very very sweet molasses. Short sweet (surprisingly!) finish. Yuck.
