Draught @ Amsterdam Brewhouse: This one pours a dark caramel color. It has a thin light tan head. Good nose. Malts, biscuit, toffee and some grasiness. The taste is good. Malts, biscuit, toffee, some nuttiness. Nice! mikkopen (1197) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2017
473 ml can. Clear dark reddish brown colour, thin off-white head. Sweetish malty aroma with caramel, nuts and fruity notes. The taste is sweetish malty, lightly toasted, with notes of nuts and dark fruits, and a moderately bitter finish. OK. shawnmurphy (666) - Plattsburgh, New York, USA - JUL 9, 2017
On tap at the waterfront brewpub in Toronto. Pours brown-ruby with trace off-white head and lacing. Aroma: nuts, brown sugar, malt vinegar. Flavor: nuts and brown sugar. Mouthfeel: light-bodied, watery. Bulk_Carrier (6064) - Vermont, USA - MAY 2, 2017
Thanks Tim for the can.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a slight dark amber almost brown color with a finger and a half’s worth of white foamy head that held for a little bit before gently dieing. Just a wisp of messy lace.
The aroma had some sweet caramel/toffee malts up front with some nuttiness. Light toast and then some earthy/grassy hops.
The flavor did a decent job of blending sweet to roast and that slid into the aftertaste and sliding into the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied, maybe just a tad under with a pretty good sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt good.
Overall, nicely done English brown ale well worthy of having again. nuplastikk (6512) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 11, 2017
16oz can. Ruby-brown body, deep sweet caramel brown ale. Medium bodied, with an obvious UK influence. Some amber malt undertones. Smooth, sweet specialty malt tones. Easy going malts. Enjoyable.

I really am not a huge fan of Brown Ales, which is probably why I didn’t really like this. kathryne (16) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 29, 2017
Nice appearance but the taste was perhaps a bit too nutty compared to other nut ales. Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - SEP 29, 2016
Almost opaque dark brown color, with a copper hue, and moderate activity. Slightly creamy light brown 2 finger head, lasting around 5 minutes, with poor legs. Flavors of chocolate, roasted dark grains, molasses, dark berries, nutmeg, coffee, herbal spices. Highly sugary, with low bitterness, but strong sharpness. Creamy medium body with prickly carbonation. Medium strength finish that lingers with a chocolate roasted earth feel. Overall an okay quality craft. The flavors are tasty, but a little unbalanced and faint, while the remaining finish is well intensified. Okay freshness being a little flat. Feels overly accessible.
