3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mainly pine, a bit of citrus, onion, sweet malt and a bit of alcohol on the nose. Not mind blowing but seems well balanced. Clear, dark copper color, quickly fading head. Taste is fairly soft, the quoted IBUs aren’t really coming through here. Medium bodied and low/medium carbonation. Sweet malt upfront, pine in the middle and a bit of alcohol and hop bitterness in the finish. Hop profile is quite different from the Boneshaker. A decent DIPA.
473 m can. Hazy amber colour, thick off-white head. The aroma is sweetish fruity, with pineapple, citrus fruits and pears, some pine and caramel. The taste is sweetish malty, with caramel, orange and grapefruit, some warming alcohol, and an aromatic, dryish finish with a good dose of resin. Tasty. Enjoyed a pint at the new BrewHouse on the Lake. Pours an average size frothy head and has a light amber appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Nose of citrus and floral hops as well as earthy hops, grapefruit and other strong citrus notes. Flavours of dark fruits, dark roasted malts and some yeasty notes as well. A little bit sweet and has a tangy finish. Very malty in the finish as well with some mild spices making an appearance. Full bodied, nice crisp bitterness.

By far one of my favorite beers. Strong in flavour with a great aroma and after taste. Well worth the price and visit to the Amsterdam brew house.

Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy golden orange pour with white head aroma brought notes of orange peel, grapefruit, slight stone fruit into some pine and resin, touch of biscuit. Taste was a mix of light orange, grapefruit and citrus peel into some pine, grass, slight bready notes, finishing dry, bitter, slightly boozy. Pours an unfiltered, hazy golden-amber colour with a frothy off-white cap, decent stay and foamy-creamy lace. Hoppy aromas of pine, citrus zest and herbal notes. The taste is quite hoppy, but not overly dry in the finish. Goes down nicely with flavours of lemongrass oil and other citrus fruits. Hints of caramel malts. Great drinkability.

From tap. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is solid grapefruity. Sweet, solid hoppy. Fruity. Grapefruity and slight pine. Dry and hoppy finish. MattChiasson (71) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 2, 2016
Out of the bottle, poured a medium copper, slight haze, with a persistent white head. I got lots of fruity hop aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, mango and apricot, along with some grassy notes. On the palate, very refreshing with repeats of citrus and tropical fruits, orange marmalade and orange peel and caramel malt. Lingering hop bitterness but balanced by malt sweetness. Really enjoyed it! Karol (932) - SLOVAK REPUBLIC - OCT 11, 2016
Tapped at Bar Hop in Toronto. Clear golden copper color. Thick soapy head. Great aroma of tons of pine and fresh fermented fruits like apples or pears. Taste is very refreshing and piny plus bitter hops in the finish. Heavy mouthfeel of pine and bitter hops. Finish is dry piny and bitter hops. Alcohol present. Full body. Medium carbonation. Overall a heavy IIPA. Gona take a long a while to finish my glass. superterp (6) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 20, 2016 does not count
Tastes so good, a little milder than boneshaker with similar hops and higher alcohol. This one will make you feel nice and roasted on the couch ;) Kauge (1992) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 8, 2016
Tap at Amsterdam. Dark translucent coppery with persistent but small light beige head. Great rings of lace. Nose of toasty and slightly jammy malts, strawberry jam, marmalade. Not exactly hoppy. Tastes really bitter, no balance whatsoever... Resin and citrus peel. As it’s completely warm the bitterness recedes against the jammy sweetness. Extremely crisp on the palate, totally unexpectedly so for an IIPA... Swirling helps. Medium body, dry finish. Not exactly the kind of IIPA I enjoy most but in itself not bad.
