Bottle - Malts and some oxidized berry notes. Dirty reddish amber with a small white head. Malty raspberry, light tartness and some light sweetness. The malty tones make this chocolate bar like. BrewGoblin (632) - Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, CANADA - JUL 10, 2014
I don’t really like fruit beers all that much, they can surely be enjoyable but seem more like a novelty. This Fruit Beer from Amsterdam is just a great beer, fruit-flavoured or otherwise. The aroma is not overly pungent of raspberry, just a nice hint mixed with wheat and honey. She is a beautiful crimson with a bubbly off-white head. Taste is definitely of raspberries but not to a sickening degree. Backed by some hardy caramel malts and citrus hops, it’s not even close to the cloyingly sweet raspberry/strawberry brews that hail from Belgium. A great summer beer but welcomed anytime as it tastes like a real beer with raspberries along for the ride. rob6239 (677) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 29, 2014
From bottle pours actually a dark red, almost a grape juice colour with minimal head that actually laces glass well. Aroma is of raspberry bubble gum. Taste is smooth, neutral - not too sweet, a good balance for a fruity beer. Atheist_Peace (981) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - JUN 11, 2014
Very dark brick red sort of pour. Minimal head. Raspberries on the nose with some grainy maltiness. The same can be said of the palate. Nice and dry for this style. jksipa (945) - Newmarket, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 1, 2014
Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear reddish amber with a small pink head that fades quickly to a ring. Nose is raspberry with light grain and caramel. Taste is tart raspberry with a light sweetness balanced quite well. Mouth is medium slick with active carbonation and a sticky finish.

Found this beer in an unmarked box, and at seven years of age for a fruit beer, it would be a dumper not to be rated except for one thing: this beer has a good amount of acidity that has kept this beer alive. Amazingly, the raspberry fruit is still going strong, lots of big berry flavor with light fruity sweetness, but a good amount of tartness as well, just like when eating fresh raspberries. I think if this beer were only lightly fruity to begin with, that aspect would have faded by now, but it’s SOOOO fruity, it’s still very prominent to the point that the base beer is hard to pick out. Same with the nose, as the fruit is extremely aromatic with sweet/tart raspberry, although it’s more like raspberry jam than fresh raspberries at this point. The beer is medium in weight, medium-high in carbonation, and mildly acidic from entry to finish. The color is a deep red-amber, clarity is good, and the off-white head pours to over half an inch before settling to a ring. Overall, I’m very impressed with how well this beer has held up. It’s not only drinkable, but enjoyable too.
Bright red, clear with 1 finger pink-beige head that quickly subsides leaving thin lacing. Aroma is raspberries, so is the taste, but a bit more grain character is evident in the mouth. Nice refreshing tartness, but nothing too exciting.
