This lager poured a deep amber colour with a big, off white, foamy head. Nice lacing on the glass. Scents include brown sugar, smoke, malt and light coffee. First taste was creamy and mildly sweet with flavours of malt, smoke and light cocoa. Finish is sweet with malt and smoke flavours lingering.

At C’est What Amsterdam clearing out the cellar event. Cellaring has apparently mellowed it. Much tastier than the low Ratebeer rating. Spab (4217) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 10, 2012

2010-09-25 at Cest What 2010 Fall Festival of Beers. Huh - managed to miss this rating for the past 3 years - 4th time lucky. Appealing deep, bright, deep refractive mahogany with huge creamy, tightly fizzy milky-looking beige head. Pleasant aroma too, soft grain (not oily), honey, clover, slight floral bitterness, mildly toasty (7-). Taste is quite a letdown, grain, but oddly harsh and medicinal, perhaps weedy, but definitly not floral; mild alcohol. Watery, weakly carbonated, quick-finishing and a pretty harsh aftertaste - started well, ugly memory. jimmay (815) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 6, 2009
341 ml bottle from the brewery. Pours orangey copper in colour, with an off white (orange??) head. Aroma is roasted, smoky malt. Flavour is similar, heavy on the smoky. Not bad. mabel (10004) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 12, 2009

I tried this beer on October 21, 2008 at "Smokeless Joes" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer pours a clear dark reddish gold with a thick creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was sweet malt, with some citrusy hints, and some smokiness. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, slightly creamy, with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet, malty, with a dry finish.
Bottle: Poured a light amber color lager with an average size head with good retention but no lacing. Aroma of caramel malt is quite refreshing. Taste is also dominated by some caramel malt with not much discernable hops. Body is average with good carbonation. Not the most complex of beer but well done for what it is supposed to be.
