ILduce (284) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 25, 2009
Bottle from Brewery: Cloudy yellow beer with thin fizzy head. Smells like orange peel and wheat. Taste is citrus, wheat, and bread with a strange finish--strange lingering aftertaste. Watery. Unimpressive.

[2321-20090719] Clear bottle. Orange skunky grains aroma. Hazy, pale yellow white body with a quick foamy white head. Strong orange grains flavour has more skunky wheaty water. Medium body. Fresh bottle from the brewery but it has some unpleasantly odd sediment in the bottom of the bottle.

2009-07-19. Hazy pale pastel yellow with a small white head. Aroma is yeasty with modest hops, floral and grassy, bit of an odd funky/skunky character to it at first. Flavour has an odd biterrness to it. Yeasty with a bit of spice character it hints and pepper and anise, which comes off as an odd combination at times. Not unpleasant, but the flavour combinations are a bit jarring at times. Average palate lacks the fullness of a wit, but the sludge at the bottom of the bottle likely would have added weight had we not been fearful of it. Okay. We have some more bottles so perhaps I will try it again after resuspending the sediments to see if it improves. As it is, it feels less fresh than I would have expected for a beer consumed within a week of purchase straight from the brewery. Interesting but disappointing - I had high hopes for this one as a number of people had mentioned it was rather good. Bottle from the brewery.

Two bottles given to me by Troy Burtch. pale color with cement caked on the bottom. no mater how much i shake the stuff stays put. nose is citrus and like pootz said wet grain. flavor is bready, some spicymess and on odd finish, ok but the clear bottle i think has taken a little toll on this one.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2011 Bottle: Pours a clouded pale straw ale in the glass. Puffy cap reduces but laces well. Lots of sediment in bottle to be agitated before pour is done. Aromas of citrus coriander, grassiness and wet grain. Prickly mouth feel and sharpness from the hops. Nice biscuit dough from the wheat, spicy, citrusy, dry in the finish. Light sparkling and refreshing. Good effort at a Belgian wit. Perhaps a tad on the sweet side but serviceable.

16oz draught

I tried this beer on tap on July 9, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a hazy golden yellow with a thin white head that quickly disappeared. The aroma was sweet fruit, wheat, and a generous dose of citrus. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour was malty with hints of citrus.
