500ml bottle. Black with a frothy tan head. Flavors are dark chocolate, brown sugar, roasted malts, coffee and resinous hops with ashy and fruity notes. Pleasant alcohol warmth, generous bitterness. Full body, soft carbonation, creamy texture. codfishh (202) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 15, 2014
Pours dark brown to black tan head lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is lots of burnt malt, flavor is bitter chocolate with lots of hop bitterness. Could use some more sweetness. GreatDane1632 (1169) - North Dakota, USA - NOV 6, 2014
Received in a trade with dresden -- 500mL bottle poured into a tulip, opaque black with almost no head, with tan/brown bubbles. Aroma is roasty, tobacco, and coffee. Tastes very similar as the aroma although a little muted and much more melded. Mouthfeel is s little thin, but I don’t think it detracts. j12601 (11831) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - OCT 25, 2014
Deep black thin tanned head. Big sticky prune and chocolate. Medium bodied, chewy sweet chocolate and sticky roast and malt. Long chocolate, dry and roasty.

bottle, definately aged for a few years. Impressed. fuller mouthfeel, roasted malt heavy, chocolate & coffee notes. well done Randy4Beer (513) - - JUN 4, 2014
First observation is it was extremely hard to get open. Took me about 12 minutes to open it. This is due to them waxing over the cap and it being very reluctant to come off in anything but extremely small flakes. Was it worth the effort? It sure was. Got toasted malts, subtle dark chocolate undertones, and even a tad of coffee. Very flavourful, and right up there amongst some of the best stouts I have had. Would definitely recommend it. 500ml bottle, 2013 vintage, 9%. A very good example of the imperial stout style. Dark black, red edges, big, thick, mocha head. Taste and aroma are mostly dark coffee and some chocolate. Full body. Overall, solid thumbs up. mathieuc (3990) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 1, 2014
2013 vintage, thanks to robinvboyer for this one! Pours a rich black with a medium moka head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of big roasted malt (a little ashy even), alcohol and raisins. Taste is of coffee, dark chocolate, aniseed and not too sweet overall. Finish is ashy and acrid, sadly. Body is full, really full and mouthfeel smooth if you make abstraction of the sad finish. Otherwise it is a fair imperial stout, nothing mindblowing but still well made (except for the finish, ofc). Maybe a little more sweetness would do magic? Anyway, good.
