Third of a cask pint at the Scottish Real Ale Festival in Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on 7th July 2017. Decent 80 Shilling brew; deep, dark amber body, off-white foaming head. Malty and semi-sweet, some chocolate flavours coming through towards the end of each sip. Liked it. Iznogud (4069) - CROATIA - FEB 20, 2016
Cask at Kylesku Hotel. Pours dark amber with lasting off-white head. Caramel malty, toffee, maybe a hint of fruit, Sweet, with some bitterness in the end. AshtonMcCobb (6852) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 3, 2015
On cask at the White Lady.
Appearance - amber with a nicely proportioned head.
Nose - citrus but with a mysterious chocolate note lurking in the background.
Taste - more of the same but there’s an astringent malt finish.
Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture but the finish is astringent.
Overall - not worth getting another. allmyvinyl (10931) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 2, 2015

Lightly hazy deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and crisp. Sweetish malts, little cream. Touch of dried fruits. Dry finish. Dull malty beer but inoffensive.
(draught) pours a hazy golden colour with a creamy off-white head. aroma of light butterscotch and straw, with a hint of caramel, some kiwi, nettles and yeast. flavour is mostly grainy pale malts and raisins, slightly green and yeasty, with a hint of floral hops in the finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation. jamestulloch (4264) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 21, 2014
Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear ruby/amber body with a thin beige head. No visible carbonation. Nice lacing. Weak aroma of grain, steel and earth. Flavour of... not very much - maybe weak tea and toffee. Very light with no depth at all. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Definitely not as bad a the ratings from 2010 and before suggest, but this just feels a bit diluted and watery.
