Anacortes Hefeweizen is relatively dry, mildly hopped with German Noble varieties and has a complex body with a traditional Bavarian aroma and flavor.

On tap at Rockfish Grill / Anacortes Brewery, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is authentic for style, with notes of clove, banana and citrus. Flavour is quite nice, with clove, wheat, and banana. Dry, wheaty, and refreshing. Very nice hef.

On tap at Rockfish Grill. Aromas of banana, wheat, and light lemon notes. Pours a hazy bright yellow orange color. Soft sweetness, wheat malt, light banana and bubble gum notes. Soft citrus crispness in the finish. Kind of thin to me. This struck me as an odd mix between and American Wheat and German Hefe. Nose was better than the flavor.

Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a wheaty malty banana aroma. Sweetish wheat malty banana flavor with some citrus hints. Has a slightly sweet wheat malty finish with some yeasty hints.

Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 1, 2008
On tap at Porterhouse in Mt. Vernon, WA--Poured a murky, soapy mustard yellow body with no head. Phenolic nose with fruity chewy esters. Nice wheat and yeast play. Medium carbonation and spicy finish. Not bad at all.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2008 Thought this was a relatively weak take on one of my very favorite styles. Prevalent yeasty aroma, full of banana and clove, more clove than anything, a slight bit of bubblegum. Wheaty maltiness, but not aggressive and upfront, slightly int he background, not quite watery, but weaker than I was looking for. Re-rate 7/7/08 6/4/5/2/12 Slightly unfiltered, great head retention and lovely lacing. Clean, but somewhat watered down, some spiciness, light honey and clove. Not the best example of the style.
