Trappist1's rating

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 13/20

750ml bottle. Dark brown color, with a pinkish beige head. Nose: smokey, roasted, cherries, (wild?) yeast ver much present. bit sugarish, hint of sourishness. Taste gives brown chocolate, speculoos, some mocha. Lacks a bit of power though. carbonated and a gentle finish (which I did not expect). To me, it feels that the porter and the ’kriek’ just do not mix up together. Lacks a bit of punch from the ’kriek’ and the smoothness of the porter. Nevertheless a good effort, like this. Nice experiment.

Deep dark hazy amber with a thin rocky light tan head. Bright earthy tart cherry and cocoa nose with some slightly lactic twangs about it. Bright lactic but fruity sour flavor that’s wild and earthy with gentle cocoa darkness and a finish of wild buggy sourness and gentle cherries. Complex and interesting. Dark and sour with a fruity buggy finish.

Aroma is fruit/cherries, malts, mild chocolate and a musty hint. THe flavor is cherries/fruit, malts, mild chocolate and a mix of tart and warming alcohol in the finish.

Bottle from Premier Gourmet. Reddish than black. Cherry in the finish. Decent porter with cherry taste. lighter mouthfeel for a porter.

Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball from notes. Pours a hazy amber brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have chocolate, tart fruit, raisins, some cherry, mild roasted malt, the malty/sour thing is interesting enough.

22oz bottle pours a clear brown with some cloudy, white head. Nose has malt, booze, mild soap, a little raisin. Flavor has orange, pine, soap, mild raisin. Full bodied. Just not a Kriek.

rarbring (2294) - Linköping, SWEDEN - AUG 11, 2015
Aroma: Smelling of bread, cherries, chocolate and vinegar.
Appearance: A foggy brown-red colored beer. A small pink head with some lacing and good curtains.
Taste: Tasting sour red fruits, vinegar and bitter cherry peel.
Palate: Medium high carbonation, a sticky texture. A medium body with a dry finish.
Overall: Much more kriek than porter now, just a faint smell of chocolate.
Note: Bottle 750 ml at home. Reviewed 2015-08-11.
